Understanding Our Horses' Five Senses

People often think that animals experience the world as we do, and that presumption can lead us to neglect even trying to learn their language. This trait is called human egocentrism, and it means that we look at the world through our own viewpoint and fail to interpret it from others’ perspectives.

“Humans make many mistakes when we try to imagine the minds of other animals. This is partly because we simply do not know those minds well, and horses are particularly hard to study,” said Janet L. Jones.

This kitty has been hanging around the farm for at least a few weeks, and finally got close enough for us to get a picture. If you recognize, please let us know! It seems to have big tomcat cheeks so assuming it’s a male. He currently enjoys our barn kitty’s food and is welcome to stay…. it will be vetted soon (through TNVR program) if an owner isn’t found.

American Regent, Inc. announced that select lots of Adequan Canine Injection and Adequan i.m. Injection joint medication are affected by the recall.

A nationwide recall was issued for two lots each of canine and horse intramuscular joint injections after routine testing revealed fiberglass contamination.
