Today marks the end of Raja's 1st week in his Board and Train!
He is only 7 months old so we focused on his household manners, recall, and crate training this week. Next week we will continue to build on what he has learned while adding in some more intense leash manner training!

Layla is a lab, she is understandably OBSESSED with ball. Some dogs see a ball and all other thoughts leave the chat. As we're adding more play to our training sessions she was never interested in the tugs, so we decided to see if she could still use that brain even with a ball in play. She indeed CAN! We are So excited to keep working with the ball reward as our training progresses.

We are slowly working on getting rid of hand movements and non-verbal cues for some of our very common skills, like PAWS, UP, and OFF!

You can't always manage a hand signal and your dog needs to understand BOTH commands separately and together, hand signals help them learn a lot faster than verbal alone, but separation is key to your dog truly understanding the skill you are asking them to do.

Galway was doing really well and gradually only needed a slight body movement by the end of our session, this will be completely gone by the end of the next.

We love using the Blue-9 Pet Products Climb for this as it gives them a clear place for UP and PAWS while we work on removing hand cues.
