๐๐ผ โ Meet Chirp ๐ผ๐
Say hello to Chirp โ a tiny newborn kitten found on the side of the road yesterday, during a day filled with on-and-off storms. ๐๐ง๏ธ
Neonatal kittens are incredibly fragile. They canโt regulate their body temperature on their own, making situations like this especially dangerous. And Chirp is so small โ weighing just 60 grams. For context, the average newborn kitten is around 90 grams. That 30-gram difference may not sound like much, but for a baby this tiny, itโs huge.
Thankfully, Chirp is now safe with one of our experienced bottle feeders, who will give her the very best chance at survival. ๐ผ๐พ
But Chirp is not aloneโฆ
We already have 109 kittens under 8 weeks old and over 185 cats in our care. And itโs still early โ this season is shaping up to be a whopper.
Every single kitty who comes through our doors receives $300+ in standard vetting, not including daily care, transportation, or additional medical needs. The costs add up quickly, and we rely on your support to keep saying โyesโ when kittens like Chirp need us most. ๐
