Commerce Veterinary Hospital, Inc. was established in 1954 by Dr S.J. Shirley as a primarily large animal ambulatory practice for treating cows and horses for many of the local farmers. Over time, it evolved into one of the largest small animal practices in Northeast Georgia. With an exceptional staff, Commerce Veterinary Hospital provides routine, surgical and preventative care to Commerce and the surrounding communities.

Update: Road is open!

Thursday, September 10th | 7:40am

We are aware of a fire near our Downtown Commerce location. This fire has NOT affected our building or hours, however, the road is currently closed as emergency crews work and is preventing access to our driveway and office. While we do have staff on site, we are aware it will be hard to get to us at this time. If you have an emergency with your pet and need to be seen immediately, our Banks location is open at 140 Solomon Drive, Commerce, GA 30529.

Please keep the families affected and emergency crews in your thoughts and prayers this morning.

🇺🇸 TODAY’S THE DAY! 🇺🇸

Nothing too exciting is happening today, BUT today is the day that you should call or come by to get your pet’s scaredy cat medicine refilled before the exciting stuff does happen this holiday weekend!

Don’t forget, we are closed Saturday, July 4th in observance of the holiday, and a lot of local communities will begin firework celebrations on Friday, July 3rd. We recommend having the medications your pet needs on hand by tomorrow, Thursday, July 2nd. That means that calling today to ensure adequate time for the doctor to review and approve the prescription is very important! Remember, you can always email us or request your refills directly through the online pet portal or through our website if you don’t have time to call! It just takes a few clicks and comes straight to our front desk.
