🐻💛 Meet Teddy Bear — and his very special little smile.

Teddy Bear was found all alone up in a tree before a kind woman rescued him and brought him to us. We don’t know exactly what happened to him, but we suspect he may have been chased up the tree by another animal.

When Teddy Bear came in, we noticed something unusual: his little bottom teeth are always showing. 🥹

We believe he previously had an injury that tore the frenulum — the small piece of tissue connecting his lower lip to his gums/jaw area. By the time he came to us, the injury had already healed, leaving his lower lip sitting a little differently and giving him that permanently adorable toothy expression. 🦷💛

Thankfully, Teddy Bear is safe now, has been neutered, and is getting the care he needs.

And his story is such a good reminder of why looking out for vulnerable kittens matters. Sometimes all it takes is one person noticing a kitten who needs help and choosing to stop.

🐱 Ever wonder why some male cats have those BIG chunky cheeks?

Those adorable chubby faces actually have a lot to do with hormones!

Intact adult male cats can develop thickened cheeks, often called tomcat jowls, as they mature. Testosterone contributes to that classic broad, chunky tomcat face.

And there’s a reason that extra padding can come in handy. 👀

Unneutered males are more likely to roam, compete for mates, and get into fights with other cats. Those thick cheeks can offer some protection around the face during confrontations. 🐱🥊

And this is another reason getting male cats neutered is so important! ✂️💛

Neutering lowers testosterone, which can reduce hormone-driven behaviors like roaming and fighting. Less fighting means fewer bites, abscesses, wounds, and other injuries — especially for community cats living outdoors.

As testosterone levels decrease after neutering, those big tomcat cheeks may also gradually become less prominent, although some guys keep a little of that signature chunky-cheek look. 😻

Spay/neuter isn’t just about preventing kittens — it can also help make life safer and less stressful for the cats already here.

🚨 GUESS WHO’S OFFICIALLY READY FOR ADOPTION?! 🚨

It’s GOOSE! 🪿🤍

Goose’s story started when one of our amazing volunteers spotted him wandering all alone along a fence outside. The moment he saw her, this sweet little guy walked right up to her like he knew he’d found his person to help. 🥹

Goose was extremely underweight and needed fluids right away, but he quickly showed us what a tiny warrior he is. 💪🐱 He didn’t let his rough start slow him down one bit!

With lots of love, food, and TLC, Goose gained weight, got stronger, and absolutely blossomed. And TODAY… he got neutered and is officially ready to find his forever home! 🎉🏡

A great week at the Feline Fix! First, we got nine kittens! (yes they are the ones that you see munching away in the first video) I know we’ve asked 100 times but we need more Royal Canin USA mom and baby wet food, the kittens are hungry and we’re trying to keep up with their ravenous appetite! The next few sides are some cuties in our program to help convince you to get them some more kitten food💕We had a wonderful time at Spectra Art Space for their “And Meow This” art event. If you weren’t able to make it to the opening reception, definitely go check it out at some point. The art show will be up for the next month. Next we had our cat lounge at RECESS we had lots of wonderful people come hang out and get some kitty snuggles! You can tell that we wore out the babies 😂😻 and the best news, mama Sammi found her forever home at our cat lounge, however her babies Kol and Elijah are still available for adoption! Please reach out and fill out an application if interested!
