🐾🎉 KITTEN ADOPTION EVENT! 🎉🐾

Kitten season is officially here, and we have 12 adorable kittens looking for their forever homes! 🐱💕

📍 School House Kitchen and Libations 5660 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80002
📅 May 31st
⏰ 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

These kittens will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, unless you’ve scheduled an appointment in advance. We will be there until 2 PM, but if all the kittens find homes before then, we’ll be heading out early to spend our time rescuing even more kittens in need! 🐾

Thinking about adopting? Please remember to bring a carrier to safely take your new family member home. 🧺

Interested in one of the kittens featured in this post? Get your adoption application submitted as soon as possible! Applications can be found on our website or through the link in our bio. 📋✨

Not quite ready to adopt? That’s okay too! Come meet some adorable kittens, enjoy some delicious food, pick up information about our programs, and learn more about how The Feline Fix helps cats in our community. ❤️

⚠️ A quick note: Please be patient with our team and volunteers during the event. We expect a lot of excitement, and our goal is to help every kitten find the best possible home. While we’ll do our best to keep information current, kittens may be adopted quickly.

If you have your heart set on a particular kitten and they find a home before you arrive, don’t be discouraged! Kitten season is just getting started, and we have many more kittens who will be available in the coming weeks. 🐾💕

And if you don’t find the perfect match with us this time, we encourage you to visit your local shelters and rescues. There are so many wonderful cats and kittens waiting for loving homes throughout our community. 🏡🐱

Every adoption saves a life and creates space for us to help even more cats in need. We can’t wait to see you there! ❤️

🐾🍼 What is kitten season?

Kitten season is the time of year — usually spring through early fall — when unspayed cats begin having litters, causing shelters and rescue organizations to become overwhelmed with vulnerable kittens needing care. Many are orphaned, sick, injured, or too young to survive on their own.

And trust us… it gets BUSY 💛

During kitten season, our team is:
💛 Bottle feeding newborns
💛 Providing medical care
💛 Finding fosters and adopters
💛 Working around the clock to help save lives

It takes a village to get these tiny babies through kitten season 🐱🍼

If you’d like to help:
🐾 Our wishlist is linked in our bio
🐾 Join us for our Kitten adoption event on May 31 where you can meet and adopt adorable kittens
🐾 And save the date for our June 14 pajama jam fundraiser — more information is available on our website!

Every donation, share, foster, adopter, and supporter makes a difference during this incredibly busy season 💛

“Why can’t feral cats come in regular carriers?”

Because frightened feral cats don’t behave like socialized house cats 🐾

When a truly feral cat is terrified, they may:
⚠️ Thrash inside the carrier
⚠️ Injure themselves trying to escape
⚠️ Become impossible to safely transfer
⚠️ Put staff and themselves at risk

That’s why traps are the safest option for community cats.

Humane traps allow us to:
✨ Safely sedate the cat
✨ Minimize stress and handling
✨ Reduce the risk of injury for everyone involved

It’s not about making things harder — it’s about keeping feral cats safe 💛

And yes — we offer trap rentals!

Scooter always shares great tips!

Seeing a new cat outside? First things first:

➡️ Find out if they belong to anyone! Make a paper collar explaining where you found them with your contact info, and attach it to the cat. If they go home, their human will see it and reach out to you!

Neighborhood Facebook and NextDoor groups are great places to post a picture of a found cat.

No response?

🚰 Provide food and water, and schedule a spay/neuter appointment so they can get fixed.

“POV: you’re a tiny kitten with BIG opinions… and an empty tummy.” 🐱🍼

Kitten season is officially here and these little land sharks are going through KMR faster than we can keep it stocked. This little one would like to formally file a complaint that we’re running low 😤😂

If you’d like to help our neonatal kittens grow big and strong, you can purchase KMR directly from our wishlist linked in our bio. Every can helps feed orphaned babies who depend on us around the clock.

Thank you all! We depend on the community and couldn’t help all the kittens we do without all of your support!

“What happens when a feral cat is injured?”

We get this question a lot — especially from people who see community cats outside and feel helpless 💔

The truth is… there are ways to help, even when a cat isn’t handleable.

In cases like this, we can:
🐾 Safely sedate the cat
🐾 Clean and treat the wound
🐾 Give a long-acting antibiotic injection that lasts up to 2 weeks

This means they can get the care they need without the stress of repeated handling or daily medication.

For feral cats, minimizing stress is everything.

It may not look like traditional “treatment,” but this kind of care can make a huge difference in their healing and quality of life 💛

If you see an injured community cat, don’t assume nothing can be done.

There are options. There is help.
