A bat found in a room where people had been sleeping in Ferry County tested positive for rabies in July, according to a press release issued by the Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) on Aug. 4. The exposed individuals have begun preventive treatment.

“This is not an outbreak,” stated NETCHD Environmental Health Director Jon Ness. “It is not uncommon for a bat now and then to test positive. When we see a positive rabies test, we let the public know, to raise awareness.”

According to studies completed by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), 13 bats have tested positive for rabies in Washington as of Aug. 8.

Good things to think about. Also a good time to remind you all that we do offer a cash discount on services!

My main reason for going cash was a very frustrating and unwarranted issue with a major credit card processor, but I also think we are avoiding cash in a way that can become very problematic.

I tell the people in my life to always keep some
cash on you. Since you are also my people I’m sharing that with you. So next time you are pulling out money for grooming grab an extra $20 or two and stick it behind your license or in your phone case where you have it for emergencies or impulse yard sales.
