As of last month, lambing and kidding season is done! God was good on watching over us and our farm. All but 1 had smooth and easy deliveries, they happened before I could even get outside. 1 ewe had difficulty. Her lamb didnt make it but we were able to have her adopt a little eweling. We had a total of 4 healthy lambs and 2 healthy kids born on the farm this year. Praying next year we have a bunch of healthy babies born on the farm!

I love our sheep and goats. This year I started raising 2 border leicester ewes, along with a couple Nigerian dwarf goats and a fainting goat. Well this fall we added along an icelandic ram to breed to our girls. Anyways, went and gave them hay this morning and I just loved their hay faces. They have come to recognize that im the food lady and when i give a call there is a mini stampede!! Hopefully these pictures give a smile, watching thumper with her hay face sure gave me one!

We have an announcement!! So back in March we brought home 2 does that were both possibly pregnant and estimated to be due about middle May, well our sweet Fancy who we lost, had little cupcake on May 19 and we were just waiting on Frosty. Well finally they decided it was time and today, almost a month later, we have 2 baby boys born!!! God was so good, i was so nervous that this could go badly like it did with Fancy but it didnt! It went so well that we were inside having lunch and playing games, that she had them on her own within a span of an hour or 2 and we had absolutely no idea!! Mama and babies are both doing well, we are gonna let them be for now and will put them in the barn with her later.

Sad day here at Apple Acre Hollow. I've been learning there's a lot of wonderful things with farming but also some sad things. On Monday night, my beautiful goat Fancy, had a baby doeling we named Cupcake. She is a big beautiful girl. Well Fancy also had another baby but it got stuck and wasn't able to make it. We ended up taking her to the vet to have them retrieve it and hopefully save our Fancy girl. They were able to retrieve it and we picked her up from the vet later that day, very sore and weak. Reunited her with baby Cupcake and thought all was well. Last night at some point during the night, she passed away. Her baby was calling and was hungry so we brought Cupcake in and fed her. She's a happy little baby who adjusted on a baby bottle just fine. You know at this moment psalms 23 comes to mind for me. God will comfort us in this sad moment. God is good and blessed us with a beautiful healthy baby girl. We will miss you Fancy.

Today I took on a project that needed to be done. I cleaned out the big chicken house. Over the winter I had used straw for bedding.... that turned out to be a big project! Well I heard people use wood pellets for bedding, so I went a bought 5 bags of wood pellets soft bedding. I gotta say it looks so much nicer and smells better with stuff being cleaned out! What type of bedding do you like to use for your birds?

This big beautiful orange boy right next to the fence is our new big daddy rooster. Our last rooster had to be replaced as he kept attacking my family. So far this rooster hasn't attacked us and seems decently chill. My husband and the kids had fun naming him. Welcome to the big coop Godzilla!
