Furry Friends Food Bank - Third Thursday of the month

Friends of Columbus Animal Care Services (FCACS) distributes pet food through the Furry Friends Food Bank on the third Thursday of each month, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm or until supplies last, at the Columbus Municipal Airport, 4770 Ray Boll Blvd.

The Furry Friends Food Bank is one of several FCACS initiatives designed as “alternatives to intake” which assist local community members with keeping their pets in their homes and out of the shelters.

Those wishing to receive food should plan to stay in their vehicles and line up on the west side of the driveway. The food will be brought to you in your vehicle.

Donations of food for the Furry Friends Food Bank are always welcome and appreciated.

Meet Prince!
Prince is an 8 year old mixed breed sweetheart who has had quite the journey and is ready for a loving forever home. His protective, serious expression might fool you at first, but beneath it is a dog who wants all the pets from anyone willing to offer them! Prince happily greets new people and immediately flops over for belly rubs.

Prince is the kind of loyal companion who will follow you around the house and quietly ask for affection with a gentle nudge or a roll onto his side. Prince has a minor hip issue, but you’d never know it. He still hops onto beds and couches, and predictably zooms around the house every afternoon at 3pm. He loves his soft, squishy toys and enjoys playing throughout the day.

This boy is wonderfully obedient and eager to please. Don’t want him on the couch? He’ll hop right down. Need him to go to bed? He’s on his way. He’s not destructive, doesn’t chew furniture, and the most chaos he brings is the occasional reflux moment (relatable, right?). He’s currently receiving treatment for a bit of skin irritation on his belly and handles baths and topical medication like a champ.

Prince loves food, especially anything chicken or beef flavored. He prefers wet food but will eat kibble too. He has a slightly sensitive stomach, but probiotic support and appropriate food keep him feeling great. He isn’t a fan of swallowing pills, though he usually doesn’t even notice when they’re crushed into his meals.

He is fully potty trained and simply asks to go out a few times during the day. Prince enjoys playing fetch, going on short walks, and relaxing outside in the backyard. Prince is incredibly calm, gentle, and devoted. He will make a great pet and is so deserving of a second chance! Won't you contact the shelter today to set up a meeting with handsome Prince?!
