URGENT CALL TO HELP SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOGS FROM CRUELTY AND DEATH:

2,000 beagles are being held in torturous conditions at the Ridglan Farms research and breeding facility in Wisconsin. Despite overwhelming evidence of criminal animal abuse, authorities have not intervened. On April 19, thousands of activists from around the country and beyond will attempt to rescue every single one of these dogs.

Here are a few ways you can help:

- Go to https://savethedogs.io and sign up to come to Wisconsin and take part in nonviolent direct action to rescue the beagles. You can choose your risk level, whether it is supporting the action from public property, or taking on a more involved role in the rescue. *The deadline to sign up is tomorrow, April 12th.*

- Make a donation to the CAA Venmo to help with travel and lodging expenses for activists from Columbus who will be joining the rescue effort. Please indicate in the memo that your donation is for the Ridglan beagle rescue: https://venmo.com/u/cbusanimaladvocates

- Donate to the general fundraiser to help with possible legal expenses for rescuers and veterinary expenses for the rescued dogs.

- Apply to adopt or foster a beagle. Please share this link with anyone who would like to provide a loving home to a rescued dog! https://savethedogs.io/placement/1

‼️ URGENT: Join us with this Sunday to fight for animal welfare, public health, and state rights ‼️

On March 5th, the House Agriculture Committee passed a version of the farm bill with language that would override states' right to set standards for food safety, animal and wellness, and local procurement.

If enacted, it would force states to accept agricultural imports that do not meet their health, safety, or origin standards, regardless of the risk they pose to farmers, consumers, animals or local ecosystems.

We need to ensure this Farm Bill is NOT passed when it goes to the full house floor if it still contains this dangerous language.

Will you join us for this hour long session to learn more and take action?

There are many reasons to oppose Section 12006 of the House Farm Bill - animal welfare, states rights, and even human health and disease prevention.

Harvard Law School released an analysis of H.R. 7567, Section. 12006 in February. The outlined state laws and regulations are examples of standards and conditions that could be prohibited by section 12006 in the House Farm Bill draft. They note that these examples are not exhaustive and reflect the substantial ambiguity around the scope of Sec. 12006. Big Ag and their allies in Congress want to fast-track a new Farm Bill that would roll back critical animal protections and strip states of the power to protect farmed animals.

KEEP CRUELTY OUT OF THE FARM BILL

Take action at the link in our bio. Call the White House switchboard at 202-456-1414 to reach your House Representative and leave a message.

Sample script:
My name is [Name], and I’m a constituent residing in [your zip code]. I’m calling to ask that you oppose any version of the Farm Bill that includes language that would overturn elections and state agriculture laws, like California’s Proposition 12. Like the failed EATS Act and King Amendments before them, these measures would override the will of voters and dismantle local and state control of agricultural laws.

Today we had the pleasure of attending a hearing of the General Government Committee at the Ohio Statehouse. along with , and gave testimony against S.J.R. 8 which seeks to amend the Ohio Constitution to establish “a right, which includes
the right to use traditional methods, to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife.” This is a dangerous, ambiguous, and unnecessary resolution.

We are so grateful to work alongside and learn from some incredible animal activists in Ohio. Legislation and policy are extremely important to ensure protections for animals on a larger scale. Join us in the fight! ✊🏼

Special thank you to our member for giving verbal testimony, and to for being present to support and show the committee that Ohioans care about this issue!

We're asking to stop funding cruelty.

The bulls, steer, and horses forced to perform in rodeos are subject to cruel tools such as electric prods, metal spurs and bucking straps. They suffer both emotionally and physically, often experiencing injuries such as broken bones, torn tails, internal organ damage, and even death.

To the above companies, please withdraw your sponsorship of the rodeo and spend your money to support more ethical companies and events.
