The hardest goodbye. 💔🐶

Sweet Arlo, I hope you’re running around in heaven with your little blue shovel. The same one you were playing with the day we picked you up. From that day on, you made our hearts so full of love, happiness, and joy. The last 7 1/2 years were the best of our lives and we’re so happy that you were by our side from Ohio, to California and back. You were the best big brother Elliot, River, and Basil. But you didn’t just touch our lives, you touched so many more from the amazing Boxer community on Instagram and I hope there’s a nice little Wigglebutt Park in heaven where all of the Boxers get to play together.

The last couple weeks were hard for you buddy. Your chronic Bronchitis took a turn for the worse this week and we couldn’t watch you suffer any longer, I just hope & pray you’re at peace now. Thank you for being our best friend, we’ll never forget you Arzy Parzy. 🌈🐶❤️

Basil is now back at home after undergoing surgery yesterday. She had a metal rod inserted alongside her hind right femur after the doctors reset it. At the vet, she was a little dazed from all of the medications but was still happy to see us. She will require a lot of attention during her recovery process for the next 6-8 weeks. Hopefully all goes smoothly and she’ll be back to her fun-loving, troublesome self in no time.

The truth: this surgery cost much more than we ever imagined we’d have to spend on a pet (and is a good reminder to purchase pet insurance, which we’re doing now). We were faced with a very tough decision, but Basil has captured our hearts and we hope she (and Arlo) have captured yours as well.
Under no obligation, we would be honored if you could donate to a portion of her surgery costs, share her link, or say a prayer for our beloved Basil. She has a tough road ahead!
