Archery deer season opens tomorrow! If you are lucky enough to harvest a deer in velvet keep these things in mind.
1. It will be extremely hot out the next couple weeks. Get thing cooled and out of sunlight ASAP
2. DO NOT drag/handle the deer by the antlers. Even grabbing the velvet can speed up the spoilage process. Take a sled out with you.
3. When in doubt….Give me a call.
4. The deer will need to be caped and cooled as soon as possible. Again give me a call anytime.
