We’re working on something NEW at 2K Dog Sports!

A private online learning opportunity designed to help dog owners discover the exciting world of Happy Ratters, understand the games, and prepare for future training, practices, and trials right here in Montana!

Whether you’re brand new to rat sports or already have a dog who loves using its nose, there’s something fun to learn!

And here’s a little hint…

Learning might even come with some special rewards, like discounted entry fees.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our online membership program. Once everything is ready, we’ll share how to join and what membership includes, (which might be this week).

🐾🏆 KONRAD — Two Weekends, THREE New Titles, and One Very Proud Mom! 🏆🐾

What a fantastic two weekends of AKC Scent Work with Konrad!

Last weekend we attended Flathead Kennel Club of Montana’s very first AKC Scent Work trial, followed by this weekend’s trial with Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club.

And this handsome boy has been putting that nose to work!

Over the past two weekends, Konrad earned THREE new AKC Scent Work titles!

🏆 SBE — Scent Work Buried Excellent

🏆 SWE — Scent Work Excellent (Overall)

🏆 SEM — Scent Work Exterior Master

Finishing his Excellent Buried title also completed the requirements for his overall Excellent title (SWE)! And earning his Exterior Master title means he now has TWO Master element titles — Interior and Exterior!

Today he qualified in all three of his Master element searches, bringing home:

🥈 2nd Place — Master Containers

🥉 3rd Place — Master Exterior

🏅 4th Place — Master Buried

He’s also officially started earning qualifying scores toward his Master Containers and Master Buried titles, with just two more Qs needed in each!

And believe it or not, his Excellent Buried and overall SWE title ribbons aren’t even in this picture! So this handsome boy has a couple more accomplishments to show off than you can see here.

Konrad knows his job, loves searching, and certainly knows how to work for his paycheck (treats, of course!). Sometimes I think he’d happily find the same hide twice if he thought he could get paid twice! 😂

At this level, the searches are becoming more challenging, and I’m learning just as much as he is about search strategies, time management, and trusting my dog.

I’m so proud of this boy and everything we’ve accomplished together. Every trial teaches us something, and every qualifying score is another step in our journey.

Keep following that nose, Konrad! We’ve got more Master titles to chase! ❤️🐾

🐾💗 Karina — The Class Clown Who Earned TWO Titles! 🏆🎉

What a difference two weekends can make!

Last weekend was Karina’s VERY FIRST AKC Scent Work trial at Flathead Kennel Club of Montana’s inaugural Scent Work trial.

This weekend was only her SECOND trial, with Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club, and this little rockstar is already figuring out the game!

Today she went 4 for 4 — qualifying in ALL FOUR searches! 🎉

And in just two trial weekends, she has earned her first TWO AKC Scent Work element titles:

🏆 SEN — Exterior Novice

🏆 SIN — Interior Novice

She now needs just four more qualifying runs to complete her overall Novice title (SWN)!

But what makes this even more entertaining is Karina’s personality. 😂

She reminds me of that kid in school who is the class clown. You know the one — perfectly capable of doing the work, but having way too much fun being silly!

I think she’s finally figured out:

“Okay, Mom! I’ll find the hides and do my work. But as soon as we’re done, I’m going right back to being the class clown!” 🤣

Apparently, belly crawls, zoomies, and being goofy are just as much fun AFTER the search instead of during it!

And today she proved she can do both — work hard and have a blast!

I’m so proud of this little girl. From her very first trial last weekend to earning two titles this weekend, watching her confidence grow and seeing her understand what we’re doing together has been so much fun.

Work first. Zoomies later. Class clown forever! 🐾💗

We’re welcoming a new addition to the 2K Dog Sports family… and this one has hooves!

I’ve wanted a mini Highland cow for so long, but I thought it would be a LONG time before I actually got one. Well, everything happens for a reason, and apparently “someday” decided to be TODAY!

The new addition is being delivered today, and I’m so excited! The dogs are about to have some serious competition for the best hair around here.

I’ll be offering workshops and private lessons in both sports for people who want to learn, practice, and have fun with their dogs.

🐀🐾 Montana dog people… something new is coming! 🐾🐀

If you and your dog love Barn Hunt or NASDA Urban & Trailing, you may want to add another game to your list — because apparently our dogs don’t already have enough hobbies or ribbons. 😂🏆

I’m excited to announce that 2K Dog Sports in Columbus, Montana has officially been approved as a club! 🎉

This sport gives dogs and handlers another chance to use those noses, solve problems, earn points, collect ribbons, and compete in a variety of locations and environments.

Basically… more sniffing, more rats, more ribbons, and one more dog sport to become completely obsessed with. 🤣🐀🏆

I’ll be offering introductory training and practice opportunities this fall and winter so teams can learn the games, get some practice in, and be ready for upcoming events.

And I’m especially excited to share that 2K Dog Sports is the first club in Montana for this sport, and I’ll be Montana’s first judge! 🐀🏔️

As the sport grows in Montana, I’ll also be looking for people interested in becoming additional judges so we can continue expanding opportunities around the state.

So here’s the important question…

It was fun while it lasted. I enjoyed working with everyone, meeting new people, and visiting with those I've been involved in dog sports with for years. Here is a quick look at my vision/dream for my place in Columbus. Should be completed before May. Dog sports and gardening all under one roof.
