We wanted to share an update on one of the sweet little families recently welcomed into our care and formally introduce them to everyone!
Meet Mama Raven and her five beautiful babies
Mama Raven recently received a brief health exam. She is estimated to be around 5 years old and, unfortunately, appears to have several health concerns likely related to a lifetime of inadequate care. During her exam, it was discovered that she will need a dental procedure, as she has at least one tooth with purulent discharge and a suspected abscess. She also has an upper respiratory infection and had a high fever.
As a precaution due to some of her symptoms, Raven was tested for panleukopenia and we are very relieved to share that her results were negative. She also triple-tested negative, which is wonderful news. To help her feel better, she received fluids and antibiotics during her visit.
She was also spayed and is recovering. In addition, she will need an ophthalmology consultation for her right eye, which we will be scheduling as soon as possible. Despite everything she has been through, Raven has continued caring for her five 6-week-old kittens and they are doing much better.
Mama Raven has a road to recovery ahead of her, but she is receiving the care she has always deserved. She is a wonderful mother and we are committed to giving her the very best.
Her babies are doing well overall, although they are experiencing mild upper respiratory symptoms and eye infections.
Now that everyone has names, we wanted to formally introduce this precious little family! 🐾

As with many of the kitties that come into our care, Raven and her kittens will require ongoing veterinary care and support. From medications and follow-up appointments to Raven's dental procedure and ophthalmology consultation, their care comes with significant costs.
We could really use some support for Mama Raven and her kittens. If you're able to contribute toward their care, it would be deeply appreciated.
