Happy Adoption Update: Karen, now Winnie 🩷🐾
Some of you may remember Karen — one of our longer-term residents who spent far too much time waiting for the right person to see her. In December, that day finally came when Deb adopted her and renamed her Winnie.
And now? Winnie is absolutely thriving. 💙
Her adopter shared that Winnie has completely blossomed in her new home. She’s playful, goofy, full of personality, and has officially mastered the art of being a “wiggle butt.” Every night, she curls up in bed beside her mom, and every morning she wakes up wagging her tail with a smile on her face.
One of the most heartwarming parts of Winnie’s journey is how much she has healed emotionally. Deb shared that Winnie is no longer anxious or depressed and was successfully weaned off her medications because she finally feels safe, loved, and home.
Now she spends her days enjoying a fenced backyard, going on walks, soaking up love, and living the life every shelter dog deserves.
Her adopter ended her update by saying:
“You don't ever have to worry about her again.”
And honestly… there is no greater gift than hearing those words for a dog who waited so long for her happy ending.
