Get to Know the Team Tuesday

Our next staff member to highlight is Allison

Allison has been at Athens since 2020 and does a little bit of everything at the clinic, receptionist, vet assistant and tech work.

She grew up active in 4-H, showing horses and chickens in Shelby County and her love of animals has stayed with her ever since.

Allison and her husband Jon have three wild boys, Nic, Hayden and Hunter that keep them busy along with their 2 horses, 2 dogs, 3 cats and a large flock of chickens. Weekly egg delivery to the clinic keeps the staff happy ❤️

In Allison's free time she enjoys being with her family, gardening, riding horses, driving motorcycles and she has just wrote her first book!

We are thankful to have Allison as part of our Athens family!

Meet our Practice Manager, Shelby Case.

Yes, the daughter of Dr. Case 💜 She has quite literally been at Athens her entire life. From helping Dr. Case pull a jugular blood draw at 5 years old, sitting in her car seat during emergency surgeries or coming in on Christmas Eve to tube feed a tiny donkey, named Mary, to meeting so many of our loyal clients as a little girl and now getting to continue those relationships.

Shelby graduated from Purdue in 2010 and became practice manager in 2015 and as much as she loves the animals, her true passion is the people, she is beyond grateful for the relationships she has built while working at Athens.

Outside of work, Shelby enjoys spending time on the farm with her family, working cattle, playing softball, listening to music and learning all things history!

❓️Has your pet been extra itchy the last month ? If so, you aren't alone! Summer allergy season has hit extra hard this year!

Environmental allergies are at the top of the list 🌳, then flea allergies 🦗,followed by food allergies! 🥣

There are several go to treatments for allergies such as Apoquel 💊 and Cytopoint 💉, which you see Allison and Shelby A. administering to Jasper!

If you have a pet that is itching and uncomfortable, please call to see if an appointment and allergy treatment is appropriate 🐶🐱

Get to Know the Team Tuesday.

Joni has been a staple at Athens since 1987 and has done a bit of it all but her specialty is inventory manager and running the treatment area like a well oiled machine. If you need anything, Joni probably has it!

She is always guaranteed to make us smile, do anything asked and can never not be busy and we love her for that! 🤪

Outside of work Joni enjoys spending time with her family and granddaughters. She has two dogs, Mer-Dee and Skitur and 1 barn cat. 🐾

Without Joni, our team would not be as strong as it is today and we are so thankful for her many years of love and compassion to so many of our patients! 🥰
