❤️🐾 APL COMMUNITY UPDATE — THANK YOU FOR STANDING WITH US 🐾❤️
We don’t even know where to begin other than thank you.
The outpouring of support from our community over the past several days has been absolutely incredible. You opened your homes, fostered animals, donated, transported animals, volunteered, shared our posts, checked on our staff, and reminded us that we are not in this alone.
And because every serious update needs a little puppy cuteness, we’d like to introduce you to Squirrel! 🐿️🐶❤️
Squirrel is one of our pups currently staying in boarding. He’s safe and being cared for, and once his medical needs are complete, he’ll be looking for either a foster home or his forever family. We’ll share more about this adorable little guy soon!
Right now, we’re picking up the pieces and working as hard as we can to get APL up and running again. It’s going to take some time, patience, and a whole lot of teamwork.
🏠 Our building is not yet safe to return to. We will not be able to resume operations inside the facility until it has been deemed safe and has been thoroughly cleaned. The health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and animals have to come first.
Because of this, we will not be holding any new volunteer orientations at this time. We know many of you are eager to help, and we are incredibly grateful. We hope to resume orientations and welcome new volunteers as soon as we’re safely able to return to the building.
🐾 ADOPTION APPLICATIONS:
If you’ve already submitted an adoption application, thank you for your patience. Our team is still working through the kinks of operating under these unusual circumstances. We are working hard to get our adoption process back up and running and hope to be ready for adoptions very soon.
🏡 FOSTER APPLICATIONS:
If you’ve applied to foster, please know we’re sorting through applications and working as quickly as possible. There are a lot of moving pieces right now, and our team is doing everything we can to get animals into appropriate foster homes.
And we want to be honest with you — it has been a VERY long weekend for our staff. We are navigating circumstances we’ve never faced before while trying to care for our animals, support our fosters, coordinate with veterinary partners and rescues, and figure out how to move forward.
We’re tired. We’re overwhelmed. But we’re incredibly grateful.
And we’re not giving up. ❤️
