Jackson and Blue's people came to me the first week they brought them into the home. Two adult dogs at once, Blue, a husky, and Jackson, a multi-mix. Both wonderful dogs. Sweet, smart, eager to please.
Two dogs at once can easily become so bonded to each other that they stop looking to their humans. So from day one we've been working them separately. Separate walks, separate training, one-on-one time every day.
Time and patience is what's needed, not just when bringing one dog into the home, but especially with two.
Six weeks in and they're doing really well. We're working hard to prevent the issues that raising two dogs at once can cause. Giving each dog their own attention now means they'll stay confident and independent instead of relying on each other for everything. And when they're not so focused on each other, that's when the real bond with their people starts to grow. That's the goal.
