Due to the county remaining at a Level 3 snow emergency, CityPets614 Animal Hospital is closed today for all services, including boarding pick-ups and drop-offs.

Due to current weather conditions, CityPets614 Animal Hospital will be opening at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 26th.

Please note:
No ROMP/daycare
No grooming
No surgery

We will be open for limited medical appointments and essential care. All pets that are boarding with us will continue to be cared for, fed, and walked as scheduled.

Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our clients, pets, and staff. Further updates will be shared here if conditions change.

❄️ Weather Update for Monday ❄️

UPDATE: We are opening at 10am on Monday with limited services.
No surgery
No daycare
No grooming

We are closely monitoring the snowstorm expected to move through this weekend.

If we need to close or open late on Monday due to weather conditions, we will post an update here on our page. Clients with appointments already scheduled will also receive a direct message from our team. Messages will begin going out around 5:45 AM if there are any delays or closures.

Please rest assured that all pets boarding with us will be fully cared for, regardless of weather conditions. Boarding pets will be fed and walked multiple times throughout the day, and we have staff who live close by and are able to safely come in no matter the conditions to care for them.

Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our clients, staff, and pets.

🧐HEY! DID YOU KNOW? 🧐
As the temperatures drop, your pet’s coat actually needs MORE maintenance — not less.
Winter can be tough on skin and fur, and skipping grooms this time of year can quickly lead to discomfort, matting, and even medical issues.

Here’s why winter grooming is essential:

✨ Salt causes dryness & skin irritation
Sidewalk salt sticks to fur and paws, leading to cracked pads, itchy skin, and coat dehydration.

✨ Snowballs form between toes → painful matting
Those cute little snow clumps pack tightly into the coat, especially on longer-haired pups. Once they melt, they cause mats around paws, legs, and bellies.

✨ Wet coats = hotspots
When moisture from snow sits against the skin, it creates the perfect environment for bacteria and yeast. This can lead to painful hotspots underneath the fur.

✨ Long winter coats mat faster
Many owners avoid grooming in winter to keep dogs “warm,” but long, unmaintained coats trap:

—all of which lead to tangles, matting, and pelting.
