🐾 Nala Foster & Training Update 🐾
Nala continues to make steady progress in foster care, and we are very proud of how far she has come. As with many dogs working through behavioral challenges, progress is not always linear, but Nala has shown increased confidence, improved communication, and a growing ability to navigate situations that were previously difficult for her.
Over the past several weeks, Nala has been working on emotional regulation, impulse control, cooperative handling, and learning alternative behaviors through positive reinforcement-based training. She is becoming more responsive to her handlers, recovering more quickly from stressful situations, and showing improved engagement during training sessions.
Management remains an important part of Nala's success. Structured routines, clear boundaries, enrichment activities, supervised interactions, and thoughtful introductions continue to help her make good choices while preventing situations that may overwhelm her. These strategies are not a setback—they are valuable tools that support learning, build confidence, and help create lasting behavioral change.
A special thank you goes to Nala's foster family, who have been incredible throughout this journey. Their dedication to her daily care, training, management, and behavioral needs has played a significant role in her success. Through consistency, patience, advocacy, and a willingness to learn, they have provided the structure and support necessary to help Nala continue moving forward.
Nala continues to benefit from decompression, enrichment, training, and ongoing behavior modification. Our focus remains on helping her develop appropriate coping skills, make thoughtful choices, and navigate the world with greater confidence.
