Although New Year's Day has passed, I thought I would take a moment to review 2022. We had our ups and downs, growth and injuries, met so many new people and their pets, and even welcomed a new resident!
Last January started with the devastating loss of one of our own; at the young age of 6 Einstein left a Boxer sized hole in our hearts. He will always be missed.
In February, Dewey came into our home like a bull in a china shop! Literally. Within 3 weeks he had run full speed, head first into my knee tearing my meniscus. We used creative ways to get him the exercise he desperately needed while I went through physical therapy. He also got a crash course on impulse control, no pun intended. In December, the day before Christmas Eve, Dewey went to his forever home where he's been spoiled by an amazing family and will continue his training with us!
In June, we welcomed a medical foster through the county shelter. He was in need of a calmer home where he could recover from surgery on a broken leg. Unfortunately, after 8 weeks of rest, his bones were not fusing. Due to the pain and inability to use his leg, we decided it would be best to amputate. He recovered so quickly, physically and emotionally. The transformation was amazing! Just minutes after he received his medical release, we finalized his adoption. In August, the tiny tripawd Boxer mix, now named Snaggletooth, became a permanent resident!
In 2022, dog walks totaled 232.58 miles. Our goal in 2023 is to surpass 300 miles!

So many new dogs joined us for training, too many to list. We've worked on basic cues, good manners, eliminating unwanted behavior, tricks, confidence building, reactive behaviors, socialization, and so much more!
There were many dogs who visited our home, some for boarding alone and some included training. No matter the reason, we all had fun. The "senior residents" were very helpful in setting a good example and showing our visitors the ropes.
My apologies for missing a few dogs, I was unable to capture a picture of everyone. Sometimes I cannot safely take pictures while actively training or walking.
In true "Einstein style", we sent 2022 out with a bang! Looking forward to continued time with our existing clients and welcoming new clients to our family!
