What an amazing night . Not often do you see a man on the verge of tears and speechless . The only thing Donny could get out was “this is the biggest buck of my life “. We have a long history with this buck. He was named the Bully Buck. Anytime he was around you could rest assure you wouldn’t see other bucks. This old warrior met his match last night. Donny executed a good frontal shot. Dogs were brought in after he only found part of the arrow. Meeko,Jenko,Toby hit the track and in no time located this bruiser of a buck. Seeing the old man smile ear to ear and turn into a kid onChristmas morning brings tears to our eyes seeing how happy he was. Congratulations Donny and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special night.👏🤩🥳🐶🙌

Great morning track , Jake called last night about a deer he shot. Shot Happened so quick he was unsure about it and wanted to have the crew come out this am. Toby,Jenko, and Meeko did not care that we had fresh snow on the ground covering the blood trail. Deer ran approx 150 yards and piled up. Thank you Jake for the call.
Jake was one of our first clients years ago when Jenks got us started 🙌🤩🐶😍

Tips for a successful track using dogs , this is opinion based and can vary in any which way for a variety of reasons. Over the better part of 10 years using dogs we have seen a lot of good and bad. Here is a short list to help us recover your deer this season. In no particular order

1.) If you don’t see the deer fall, quietly back out and wait for a dog
2.) DON’T go in and ruin the track with or without buddies looking for the deer, your best chance at recovering the deer is without any conflicting odors
3.) Think about the broad head you use. Modern bows are extremely fast and we seem to track a lot more deer with expandables versus fixed blades
4.) If videoing your hunt try to get shot placement on video, if you do not have the ability to video the shot then do your best to watch the entrance and exit of the arrow.
5.) Watch the deer’s body language running/walking away.
6.) have permission from neighboring land owners in case dogs need to track across property lines.
7.) Have good lighting in case you need a track at night
8.) Pull up any digital maps and locate any water sources nearby
9.) We will send you a chart of a life size deer that will allow you to show the shot placement which will dictate how long to wait before the track begins.
10.) Patience, Patience , Patience, wounded deer can do funny things trying to survive your shot. Allow the dogs time to work and locate your deer. If he or she is dead then it’s dead. It’s not going anywhere.

What a great morning , this young man and his father shot this beautiful 5 point last night . The decision was made to track at first light due to the shot placement.
This picture brings me so much joy for so many reasons . Seeing a kids face when the dogs successfully find his deer and the fact Jake was able to witness it all and teach his son the ropes to being an outdoorsman. This is a story within a story . Beyond proud of Jake and his son Jordan .

Jenks with his first find when he was a pup. If you would have told me this dog would forever change my life and thousands of clients lives I would have said you were nuts. With minimal training and experience Jenks became a tracking machine. He taught me so many lessons, many that I still use today. He then taught his two brothers Geno and Toby the ins and outs to tracking . I would like to take the credit but Jenks deserves all the credit . After this track we then began to learn from each other trying to master the craft of deer tracking. Through the years and countless hours spent together in the woods perfecting our craft I can look back and smile knowing you brought so much joy to complete strangers when we would find their deer that they thought was lost. Jenks I hope we make you proud this season and you watch over your bothers and over all the hunters heading out this season . We love you Jenks 😍😢🐶🤗
