📖 Part 1 of the story :
SHAME LIES.

The story of our little ranch has roots tangled up in shame! 🫣 Sure there’s dreams mixed in and hope, but also a LOT of loss and disappointment!

I had the beautiful horse farm and lost it all in a divorce. I rebuilt it all and lost the next one through cancer 💔
The years that followed were financial struggle, trying to make ends meet, living in places I was embarrassed to invite people to. People who heard me talk about the dream of a horse farm for equine healing and EVERYONE saw the gap. Shame.

Continuing to build our entrepreneurial journey - holding on to faith in God’s promises for us and feeling shame that we hadn’t “arrived at success”

….. but shame lies; tells you “you’re not enough, you’re less than, maybe you should accept less.”
Shame wants to keep things hidden, covered where it can continue to whisper its deception to us in the darkness.

We fear that shame exposed can hurt us but what if instead what’s REVEALED CAN BE HEALED ❤️‍🩹
There’s a verse that says “what is done in the darkness will come into the light” - we tend to interpret this as a shameful exposure - instead could it be a tender invitation of what holds us in darkness will come into the light of love for the hope of freedom?

This was the start of our journey- a vulnerable meeting with Rebecca Mariani and tearfully opening up my hearts desire and my feelings of failure that I didn’t think we could afford our own home -much less property!!

Everything by design!

THE HORSE THAT GOD MADE

If there were one animal clearly built to carry a human and perform countless tasks, it would be the horse.
A horse’s heart and lungs are engineered for speed, strength, and endurance. With lungs that can take in about twelve times more air than ours, a horse can reach nearly 50 miles per hour, pull heavy loads, or travel close to 100 miles in a single day.

The horse also has a remarkable built in suspension system. The rear leg joints are angled so impact is absorbed through the joints instead of being driven straight up the legs. The front of the body is supported by powerful flexible muscles that suspend the torso between the forelegs like a natural shock absorber. Add in its built in “gears” that shift smoothly between walking, trotting, cantering, and galloping, and you get one of the most comfortable riding animals on Earth.
Its feet are just as incredible. The bones, hoof, and heel work together to provide strength, traction, and natural cushioning. No shoe ever invented comes close to matching what God built into a horse’s hoof.

Taken together, the horse is a masterpiece of purposeful design, serving humanity in farming, travel, sport, law enforcement, and so much more.

There is no proof that horses evolved from some other creature. We see different kinds of horses in the fossil record, but always horses.

Fun fact: when a foal is born, it has soft, rubbery “slippers” on its hooves. God designed them so the baby does not injure the mother during birth. Within a few days, they fall off on their own, revealing the fully formed hooves beneath.

I mean this from the bottom of my heart:

If you want something that you can jump on and ride whenever you want without having to factor in emotional or physical well-being, there are a number of great machines on the market that you can do this with.

Horses are not one of them.

If you choose to get a horse and pursue riding as a passion, that should come with the responsibility of caring about their well-being instead of feeling so entitled to riding that your desires come above their physical, emotional and mental well-being.

If your horse’s physical and mental comfort does not matter to you in your pursuit of riding, you are better suited to a hobby that involves machinery because then you can disregard emotion without there being a negative impact to your mount.
