Levi was one of our beloved patients here at SCVSEC. You may remember him from his video of him tap dancing during one of his Oncology visits.

Unfortunately, Levi crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago. His mom brought the whole team some of the cutest cookies as a thanks for giving her more good days with her sweet boy and her way of taking care of us when we needed a sweet treat to get through the day.

💚 September is Su***de Prevention Month 💚

In veterinary medicine, we spend our days caring deeply for others—but sometimes, we forget to care for ourselves.

Veterinary professionals face unique pressures: compassion fatigue, burnout, long hours, difficult cases, and the emotional weight of saying goodbye to beloved patients, plus personal stressors outside of the hospital. The veterinary community has also faced disproportionately high rates of su***de compared with the general population. Behind every statistic is a person—a teammate, a friend, a family member, someone who matters. 🐾

This month, we’re embracing our message:

More Good Days Together. 💚

More good days for our patients.
More good days for the families who love them.
But also more good days for the people who make veterinary medicine possible.

More days laughing together in the treatment area.
More days checking in on the coworker who seems a little quieter than usual.
More days celebrating the wins—big and small.
More days reminding each other that asking for help isn't weakness.
More days knowing that you don't have to carry the hard things alone.

Because together matters.

Take a moment this month to check in with your coworkers. Ask the question. Listen without judgment. Offer support. And remember that sometimes the most important thing we can do for someone isn't fixing the problem—it's simply letting them know they aren't alone.
