Thank you to everyone who joined us for Helping Strays’ Fall Fundraiser, a Murder Mystery Dinner, on Saturday, October 17th!

We welcomed approximately 160 guests for an evening of mystery, delicious food from Turner Hall, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. We loved seeing everyone get dressed up in costume and involved in solving the crime, while supporting a cause that makes a difference!

Thanks to your participation and generosity, we raised over $13,000 to support Helping Strays’ mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pets in need. Your support helps provide the shelter, behavioral support, and loving attention that give homeless animals a second chance at life.

Thank you for being part of this special evening and for helping make a difference for the animals in our care! An extra special thank you to our sponsors:

PET OF THE DAY!

Thor is an active, fun-loving boy who is always ready for a good time! One of his favorite games is fetch and he is happy to trade the ball for another one to keep the fun going. He gets along well with other dogs, is crate trained, and would do best in a house with no cats.

Thor would love to find an active family who enjoys playtime, adventures, and keeping him on the go. He would love a securely fenced-in yard where he can run and play and stay safe. If you are looking for a playful companion to join you on lifes adventures, Thor might just be your perfect match!

Thor is three years old and weighs 55 pounds.

All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.

PET OF THE DAY!

Adult cat adoption fees are only $25 through October 31! 🎃😺❤

Cowboy is looking for his forever family and this sweet boy is ready to ride off into the sunset with you!

Cowboy is thriving in his foster home, where he is the only pet and loves being spoiled! His foster mom says he is a wonderful companion who loves treats, sleeps peacefully through the night, uses his litter box like a pro, and doesn’t tear up anything in the house. Best of all, he loves curling up right in your lap for some quality cuddle time!

Cowboy is even learning to walk on a harness! He enjoys exploring a little before deciding it is time to head back inside. Sweet, affectionate, and playful, Cowboy has so much love to give. All he needs now is a forever family to call his own. Could that be you?

Cowboy tested positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency Virus).

Cats with FIV can live long, happy lives and they can live with other friendly cats. FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds, not through everyday contact like grooming, sharing food bowls, toys, or litter boxes.

If the cats in the home are friendly and not prone to fighting, the risk of transmission is extremely low. Many FIV+ cats live peacefully with FIV-negative cats for years without ever passing on the virus.

The most important thing is to maintain a calm, stable home and to make proper introductions, just like with any new cat. Regular vet checkups and good care will help keep everyone healthy.

FIV can only be spread to other cats; it cannot be spread to humans or dogs.

Cowboy is three years old.
