New Employee Alert! 🚨

We’re excited to announce that Aiden Swanson will be joining the Bur Oak team full-time starting next week!

He’ll be jumping right in, getting his hands dirty, helping around the shop, and learning the ropes of the taxidermy world.

We figured we’d let you get to know Aiden a little before he officially starts, so we asked him a few questions:

What got you interested in taxidermy?
“Watching my older cousin do taxidermy and my love for the outdoors really sparked my interest in it.”

What’s your favorite hunting memory?
“Probably hunting turkey with Tanner. He talked me into taking a shot I wasn’t sure I could make, but after I took the shot, I proved myself wrong. It’s definitely a hunt I won’t forget.”

What animal are you most excited to mount?
“I’m most excited to work on deer and waterfowl.”

What are you looking forward to most about joining Bur Oak?
“Getting to work with my cousin and spend my time working with the things I love.”

Please join us in welcoming Aiden to the team! We’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait to see what he brings to Bur Oak Taxidermy!

Had a great time at the Missouri Taxidermy Show this past weekend! I’m very thankful for the opportunity to see so many incredible mounts and to be surrounded by so many talented taxidermists.

I’m also honored to have received the Professional Division Choice Award from Whitetails Unlimited. Truly grateful for the recognition and the opportunity to keep learning and improving.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to every single customer who has brought us work or sent referrals throughout the 2025 season. Thanks to you, this quickly became a record year for us! As of today, we’ve taken in 253 whitetails, and we are still ACCEPTING deer for the remainder of the season.

Update:
We currently have 70 of 127 of our 2025 euro mounts cleaned as of tonight. Tomorrow will be a full bleaching day, and we are also finishing the remaining 16 shoulder mounts from 2024, which we hope to have heading home very soon.

Once deer season wraps up, we’ll shift gears and start knocking out turkeys next!

We truly appreciate every visit, every conversation, and every bit of patience and support you’ve shown us. Thank you for trusting us with your trophies and for helping make this our best year yet!
