Hay, THANK YOU ALL for the birthday wishes! I've just posted a little video of the work done on Sunday. And we STILL NEED ANY THING you can donate for filling the silos; thanks to Joanne B for helping in Belle's name. We need another $1000 at least for this project. Guys, if we can get 100 people to send $10, we'd have it! If we all could get another person to send, its really doable! If you cant, or already have!, use the sweet talk I know you've got to get a co-worker, or friend or relative to send us $10! A lot of people don't think $10 is enough to get the tax deduction, but the satisfaction of helping someone who can't help themselves is HUGE. Get 2 or 3 together, $10 each, and chose a favorite amongst TGCs horses to part-sponsor! (but yeah, sponsorship means the same every month.... But they CAN ask me to apply their donation to a particular horse. All ways that don't quite crank you up, but still helps. This picture is Cowboy - who NEEDS this pelleted food as he's about 32 now.

Well, I've been seriously needing a boost, and no surprise our friend and supporter Renee has sent me one. As you know, we have about 6 weeks to get our silos refilled, and Im also having our silo guy come to make sure each is properly supported, while tlhey are empty. It happens twice a year, the last time was May. We get very good value for the $$, and our goal is $10,000 (we have SOME already squirreled away). I know, I know, I just came from the grocery store and gas station ($6/gal). I just HATE to ask. But this is FOOD - that irreplaceable absolute necessity! If you can help, anytime in the next 6 weeks, please. You KNOW how much it is appreciated, right?

As usual, I have been busy running around like a chicken with my head cut off and last night I realized it is almost time to buy hay again! Buying hay is the most stressful thing about running this place because if you want the affordable hay, you have to get it from a dealer who does not take credit cards. So either we raise another $8000 for the next load, or we buy from the feed store and pay $8-10 a bale extra. We would much rather buy from the dealer but we don’t have $8000 and what we do have is going to be used up next week when two of our horses go up to the hospital - Redhead has a growth on her eye and Strawberry needs a lameness work up.

So now we find out - do you love us? ❤️ Do you appreciate what we do for senior horses? Can we all pull together to make this load of hay happen?

September is here and that means we’re in the final month of our 2026 HayRaiser! We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far to make sure our horses have plenty of hay to help them through whatever Mother Nature throws at us this winter.

The prices of the hay we buy vary from $5 for a bale of grass hay up to $65 for a round bale so any donation you make goes a long way. Donations can be made at https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/oldfriends?code=Donate%20Now%20NFG

It's Take Me Home Tuesday, and so we are featuring one of oh-so-beautiful horses. Today we are sharing our gorgeous girl, Cassidy!

Cassidy is a 15-year-old Quarter Horse mare. She was the first foal born to the pregnant mares of the Jacksonville Herd (whom we rescued in 2011). We raised Cassidy and trained her, and she was adopted as a 4-year-old. Cassidy moved to Colorado and later to New Mexico with her adopter. Years later she returned to Pegasus due to her adopter’s serious illness.

Shortly after her return, Cassidy injured her left front foot, requiring surgery. Cassidy healed from that procedure and is now sound for light riding. She is stunningly beautiful but is very dominant in the pasture and would do best in a home where she can be adopted with her best donkey pal, Colby! Colby's will be featured on Friday. To view riding videos of Cassidy, please click here: https://www.mypegasusproject.org/cassidy

Anyone interested in adopting Cassidy and Colby should start by reviewing our Adoption Process, including the adoption application and rules, which are attached to this link: https://www.mypegasusproject.org/adoption-process
