🐾 Happy World Senior Citizen Day! 🐾

Today, we are celebrating both our incredible human seniors and the golden-oldie pets who share their lives.

Senior pets hold a special place in our hearts. While their muzzles may be graying and their steps a little slower, their loyalty and devotion are stronger than ever.

3 Simple Ways to Keep Senior Pets Thriving:
Joint Care: Keep them comfortable with orthopedic beds, non-slip rugs, and joint supplements recommended by your vet.
Regular Check-ups: We recommend bi-annual wellness exams for senior pets to catch age-related health changes early.
Gentle Exercise: Short, frequent walks and low-impact play keep joints supple and minds sharp without causing fatigue.
Tip for Today: Do you or a senior family member have a beloved older dog or cat? Take a moment today to give them an extra treat, a gentle brush, or a cozy lap to rest on!

Show us your gray-muzzled companions! Post a picture of your senior pet in the comments below so we can shower them with love today. 👇 ❤️

🦟 Did you know mosquitoes are more than just an annoying itch?

On , we’re shining a light on the hidden danger these tiny pests pose to our pets! Just one bite from an infected mosquito can transmit Heartworm Disease to your dog or cat.
Practice Life

Heartworms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of infected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs.

3 Quick Tips to Protect Your Pet:
1️⃣ Year-round prevention: Keep your dogs and cats on monthly heartworm preventatives, even if they’re strictly indoors (mosquitoes get inside, too!).
2️⃣ Dump standing water: Check flowerpots, water bowls, and outdoor toys where mosquitoes breed.
3️⃣ Avoid peak hours: Mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk—try to keep walks brief during these times.

⚠️ Note: Never use human insect repellents (like DEET) on pets, as they can be toxic! Always consult with our team for pet-safe parasite protection.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day from the Chosen One himself, Anakin! 🖤✨

Who says black cats are bad luck? Looking into those massive green eyes, the only thing he’s bringing into our life is pure magic (and maybe a little bit of playful mischief).

Black cats are often the last to be adopted and the hardest to photograph, but Anakin proves that void kitties are absolute perfection. Slide into the comments with pictures of your own dark lords and house panthers! 🐈‍⬛👇

Meet Finn! 🐾 Official status: Fully Vaccinated & Ready to Conquer the World! 💉✨

This handsome little guy stopped by for his final puppy shots and gave our whole team an immediate 100% boost of serotonin. 🧪❤️

His dad is officially enrolling him in puppy training classes next... though judging by that last picture, Finn’s training strategy is currently "If I lie flat enough, maybe class won't happen." 😂

Swipe to see the evolution:
"Tastes like victory!" 👅
"Hold me, I’m famous." 🥺
"The weight of being this cute is exhausting." 😴
Good luck in school, Finn! We know you’re going to be the top student (or at least the cutest)! 🎓🐶

Catching those mid-week rays. ☀️
There’s something so peaceful about a perfect set of whiskers catching the morning light.

Did you know a cat’s whiskers are actually incredibly sensitive tactile organs called vibrissae? They act like a built-in radar system, helping them navigate the dark, judge distances, and even detect slight changes in the air. Pretty and practical!

Whether your pet has majestic feline whiskers or a sweet, scruffy dog snout, we want to see them. Drop your favorite photo of your pet's whiskers in the comments to bless everyone's timeline this week! 👇

Happy from all of us at the clinic! 🐾

True or False Tuesday: A cold, wet nose means your pet is 100% healthy. 🩺🐾

ANSWER: FALSE!

It’s one of the oldest myths in the book. A pet’s nose temperature and moisture levels fluctuate constantly based on their environment, allergies, or simply waking up from a deep nap. A warm, dry nose is often completely normal!

Instead of checking their nose, keep an eye out for actual signs of illness like lethargy, changes in appetite, coughing, or vomiting.

It’s World Zoonoses Day! 🌍🐾 "Zoonotic" is just a fancy science term for diseases that can hop from pets to people. Since your pet’s health is deeply connected to your family’s health, we’re breaking down the "Big Three" you need to keep on your radar this summer to keep everyone safe.

Here is your quick-fire checklist:

1️⃣ Rabies (The Non-Negotiable): This is 100% fatal and 100% preventable. It’s not just a legal requirement—it is the absolute best shield your household has. If your pet is overdue, let's get them caught up today. No exceptions!

2️⃣ Leptospirosis (The Puddle Problem): This nasty bacteria lives in the urine of wildlife (mice, squirrels, deer). If your dog drinks from a pond, splashes in a puddle, or even walks through damp grass where wildlife has been, they can bring Lepto home. It causes severe kidney and liver issues in both dogs and humans. If your dog spends time outdoors, the Lepto vaccine is a non-negotiable summer essential.

3️⃣ Intestinal Parasites (The Silent Hitchhikers): Roundworms and hookworms love to hang out in the soil. Even if your pet doesn't look sick, they can be shedding eggs that end up in your yard—or on your shoes. The best defense? Monthly preventatives and, most importantly, washing your hands after yard duty or cleaning up the litter box. 🧼

The bottom line? You don’t have to live in fear—you just have to be proactive. Keeping your pet on their vaccines and monthly preventatives is the simplest way to keep the whole pack healthy.

Not sure if your pet is due for a booster or if you’re using the right parasite prevention for your lifestyle? Give us a call or shoot us a DM. Let’s keep Two Notch Road safe! 🩺❤️

Listen, we know your pet loves you. But if a stray firework goes off this weekend, their fight-or-flight response is going to tell them to sprint directly into the next county. 🏃‍♂️💨

Consider this your official, loving, slightly aggressive reminder to check your pet’s tags BEFORE the 4th of July chaos hits.

The 3-Step "Don't Lose Your Best Friend" Checklist:
👉 Are the physical tags on their collar actually legible, or do they look like they’ve been chewed on since 2022?

👉 Did you move or change your phone number recently? Update that microchip registry today!

👉 Is your indoor-only cat wearing ID? (Spoiler: spooked pets find open windows fast).

Don't let them become a statistic this weekend. Drop a 🏷️ in the comments if your pet's ID is locked down and ready to go!
