🐾💙 A Special Shoutout to Our Shannon! 💙🐾

While we’re celebrating our ENTIRE SVAH team this week, we couldn’t let the occasion pass without giving some extra love to our very own Licensed Veterinary Technician, Shannon! 🥰

Shannon brings so much to our little hospital — from her hard work and dedication to her patients to that infectious laugh that can brighten even the craziest of days! 😂❤️

Being a Licensed Veterinary Technician takes knowledge, skill, compassion, and a whole lot of heart, and Shannon brings all of those qualities to work every day.

Shannon, thank you for all you do, for the laughter you bring, and for your dedication to a profession that isn’t always easy but is so incredibly important. We’re lucky to have you as part of our SVAH family! 🐶🐱

Help us show Shannon some love in the comments! 👇💕

🍩🐾 Sweetness Overload at SVAH! 🐾🍩

Meet Glazed, one of our adorable new puppy patients! 🥰

We’re not exactly sure how this little guy got his name, but one thing’s for sure… he’s every bit as sweet as a glazed donut! 🍩❤️

With that precious face and puppy charm, he had our hearts melting faster than icing on a warm donut!

Welcome to the Spring Valley Animal Hospital family, Glazed! We’re so excited to watch you grow! 🐶💕

Now we’re curious… what’s the story behind YOUR pet’s name? We’d love to hear it in the comments!

🥕🐾 Biscuit is BACK… and he’s got a BIG carrot to prove it! 🐾🥕

A little over a month ago, sweet Biscuit came to see us because he just wasn’t feeling like himself. After some detective work, Dr. Megan diagnosed him with Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE).

What’s that? 🤔 PLE is a condition where the intestines lose more protein than they should, which can lead to weight loss, digestive issues, and a pup who just doesn’t feel good.

With some carefully selected prescription diet changes, medication, and a little patience, Biscuit is feeling SO much better! ❤️

And at his most recent visit, our technician Kayla decided he deserved a special surprise… a GIANT stuffed carrot that was practically twice his size! 🥕😂

Apparently, Biscuit was really carrot-ed away with this whole diet change thing, because he wasted no time showing that carrot who’s boss!

Watching him play, bounce around, and enjoy himself after how poorly he was feeling just a few weeks ago is exactly why we love what we do. 💕

Sometimes the best medicine is seeing a patient get back to being a happy, playful pup!

Way to go, Biscuit! We’re all rooting for you! 🥕🐶❤️

🐾❤️ It's Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and we're celebrating our WHOLE TEAM! ❤️🐾

This week is officially dedicated to recognizing the incredible work veterinary technicians do every day, and we couldn't agree more that they deserve some extra love! 🥰

But here at Spring Valley Animal Hospital, we're doing things a little differently!

As a small, independently owned hospital, every single member of our team plays an important role in caring for your pets. From the friendly faces greeting you at the front desk to the hands providing comfort and care behind the scenes, it truly takes ALL of us to make SVAH the special place it is. ❤️

Our team members wear many hats, jump in wherever they're needed, support one another, and most importantly, treat your pets like family. Some of the most meaningful things they do are the little moments you may never see.

So while we're kicking off Vet Tech Week, we're taking the opportunity to celebrate and spoil our ENTIRE SVAH FAMILY! 🎉🐶🐱

Throughout the week, we'll be showing our appreciation for the people who put so much heart into what they do.

💕 Help us kick off the celebration! Have one of our team members made a difference for you or your pet? We'd love for you to share a kind word or favorite memory in the comments. We'll make sure they see it!

🐾 Why can veterinary care sometimes cost more at a privately owned hospital?

It’s a fair question, and one we think deserves an honest answer! ❤️

As a small, independently and locally owned veterinary hospital, we don’t have the purchasing power or corporate discounts that larger organizations enjoy. And we certainly can’t compete with the volume of products sold by large online pharmacies.

But there’s something else that goes into the cost of veterinary care that isn’t always visible—TIME. ⏰

Time spent researching, reviewing records and lab results, developing treatment plans, answering questions, communicating with clients, and following up on our patients. Much of that happens behind the scenes, long after your pet has left our hospital.

At Spring Valley Animal Hospital, we’re proud that our decisions are made right here, by people who know our patients and their families.

We understand that veterinary care is an investment, and we never take your trust—or your hard-earned money—for granted.

🎥 Watch our Reel for a little behind-the-scenes perspective on what goes into the cost of care at an independent veterinary hospital.

Thank you for supporting local veterinary medicine and allowing us to care for your four-legged family members! 🐶🐱💕

🐾 More Than a Shot: What Your Pet's Wellness Visit Can Uncover! 🩺💙

We all want our pets to live long, happy, healthy lives, and regular wellness exams play a BIG part in making that happen!

While vaccinations are important, a wellness visit is about so much more than just getting shots!

During a comprehensive physical exam, your veterinarian may detect subtle changes or early signs of illness that aren't obvious at home. From heart murmurs and dental disease to lumps, joint pain, and other health concerns, catching problems early can make a huge difference in your pet's quality of life.

💰 We understand that veterinary care can be expensive, and we know some pet parents choose mobile vaccine clinics to help keep costs down. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to save money! But it's important to remember that vaccinations alone don't replace a thorough physical examination by your regular veterinarian.

Even if your pet receives vaccines elsewhere, we encourage you to schedule regular wellness exams with us. Having a veterinarian who knows your pet and their medical history allows us to recognize changes over time and address potential concerns before they become bigger problems.

❤️ Our goal isn't just to treat your pet when they're sick. It's to help keep them healthy in the first place!

We've shared a great article explaining just how much a wellness visit can uncover. Take a few minutes to read it!

💕🐾 From Scraggly to Stunning… Meet Hestia! 🐾💕

Sometimes, all it takes is a little love to make a BIG difference! ❤️

Back in July, tiny Hestia was abandoned at Spring Valley Animal Hospital. She was just a scraggly little kitten, with no idea what her future would hold.

But Hestia’s story was about to get a whole lot brighter! 🌟

One of our wonderful clients opened their heart and home to this sweet girl, and just LOOK at her now! 😻

That tiny, scruffy kitten is blossoming into an absolutely beautiful young lady, and we couldn’t be happier for her!

These before-and-after pictures are a wonderful reminder of what a safe home, good care, and lots of love can do. 💕

Hestia, you’ve come a long way, baby! We’re so happy you found your happily ever after! 🏡🐱❤️

Have you ever adopted a pet and watched them completely transform? We’d love to hear your story (and see pictures)! 📸
