Behind every busy veterinary hospital is someone helping keep all the moving pieces together!

Our practice manager, Sarah, handles everything from scheduling and staffing to solving problems, supporting our team, and keeping daily operations on track.

This week, she's also been busy making sure everyone feels appreciated—organizing special meals, snacks, treats, and little surprises for our staff throughout the week! 🎁🍪

While we've spent the week recognizing our different departments, we didn't want to forget the person who put so much effort into making this celebration special.

🐾 Staff Appreciation Week: Celebrating Our Doctors! 🩺💙

Being a veterinarian involves so much more than giving vaccines and treating sick pets!

Our doctors spend their days solving medical mysteries, making difficult decisions, comforting worried pet owners, and advocating for patients who can't tell us what's wrong.

They celebrate the happy moments with our clients and help them navigate some of the hardest ones. Through it all, they bring knowledge, compassion, and dedication to every patient they see.

We're incredibly grateful for the care they provide and the leadership they bring to our team.

Some of the most important work in a veterinary hospital happens behind the scenes!

Our kennel attendants work hard to keep our hospital clean, comfortable, and safe. From caring for our boarding guests to keeping up with laundry, cleaning, feeding, and all the little details that make a big difference, their work is essential to our daily operations.

It's not always glamorous (and sometimes it's downright messy! 💩), but we couldn't do what we do without them!

From helping with examinations and treatments to monitoring hospitalized patients, collecting lab samples, and comforting nervous pets, our veterinary assistants do a little bit of everything!

They're constantly on the move, helping our doctors, supporting one another, and making sure our patients receive the attention and compassion they deserve.

As a Fear Free Certified hospital, we especially appreciate the patience and gentle handling our team brings to each patient—even when that means slowing down, getting creative, or breaking out the extra treats! 🐶🐱

They're the friendly voices answering your calls, the smiling faces greeting you at the door, and the people working behind the scenes to keep our busy hospital running smoothly!

Our receptionists juggle phone calls, appointments, medication requests, client questions, and the occasional unexpected chaos—all while helping pets and their people feel welcome and cared for.

They're often the first and last people you interact with during a visit, and they make a bigger difference than you might realize!

During his visit with Dr. Forbes, Henry took the opportunity to teach us more about tick-borne diseases!

Even though we are heading into fall, ticks are still active. We all know how annoying they are to find on yourself or your pet, but did you know they can transmit disease? Just like humans, animals can develop symptoms such as fever, joint swelling and pain, and lethargy. Keeping your pets protected from ticks with preventatives helps reduce the chances of disease transmission!

Did you also know that our annual heartworm test checks for exposure to three tick-borne illnesses as well? These include Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and the most commonly seen here in the clinic, Ehrlichiosis. Ehrlichiosis is transmitted to dogs primarily via the brown dog tick and lone star tick. By collecting just three drops of blood from your dog, we can see whether he or she has been exposed and determine if further testing is needed. Thanks for the info, Henry!

It's time for our 4th annual Pet-Pawlooza, and we're bringing back an important tradition: PIE IN THE FACE!

Throw on your comfiest pajamas and join us tomorrow evening for all your PJ Pawty favorites - food, games, prizes, and fun! Our doctors have agreed to put their faces on the line and brave whipped cream pies. Take your best shot!
