⚠️KITTEN ADOPTION NOTICE⚠️
Out of an abundance of caution, our on-site upstairs kitten adoption area is temporarily closed until September 17, following a confirmed case of feline panleukopenia.
We want to reassure our adopters and community that the kitten who tested positive was not housed in our general kitten population over the weekend. Based on what we know at this time, kittens recently adopted from our general adoption area are not considered to have been exposed to this kitten.
Our team is closely monitoring the kittens currently in our care and taking these additional precautions to help protect them and prevent any potential spread. We anticipate reopening our onsite kitten adoption area on September 17, provided there are no additional concerns.
Importantly, Pawmetto Lifeline remains open and our medical programs are operating as normal. We are also still offering kitten adoptions for kittens who are currently living in foster homes, so there are still plenty of opportunities to welcome a new family member. ❤️
We know many of you remember that we experienced a panleukopenia closure last year. This temporary closure is a precautionary measure, and we will continue to keep our community updated.

FOR SPAY/NEUTER & WELLNESS CLIENTS:
The temporary closure is limited to our onsite kitten adoption area. The area of potential exposure is located on the second floor of our building and is physically separate from our Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic.
Our medical programs also have separate staff who do not provide routine care for the kittens in the affected area, which allows us to limit movement between these areas and maintain appropriate infection-control measures.
Because of this separation, there is no need to cancel or postpone scheduled Spay/Neuter or Wellness appointments at this time. Both programs are continuing to operate on their normal schedules.
We appreciate our community's understanding as we take these precautions to protect the animals in our care while continuing to provide essential veterinary services.
