Over the past year, life has felt like one difficult thing after another. I know many of you have noticed that production has been slower and that I haven’t been posting as consistently, both here and on my personal pages. There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes that I simply haven’t known how to put into words.

November, we lost our beloved Tabby, Tub, after learning he had HCM. Losing him was heartbreaking and traumatic, it left a kind of grief that changed my brain chemistry. Then, in April, we lost Bear. Bear wasn’t just a dog to me, he was my first service dog, my first dog of my own, and the one who had been beside me through so many of the biggest early milestones of my adult life. Losing him felt like losing a piece of me. He was also the purpose behind my business.

We had to face the reality of poor genetics and what can happen when a service dog is attacked while working. We spent countless hours on training and tried multiple medications for management to help him navigate just daily life. His aggression progressed to the point of feeling unsafe in my own home cause of his unpredictable outbursts. Watching a dog you love struggle in that way is something that stays with you.

And through all of this, I’ve also been dealing with more and more diagnoses of my own that have been concerning and in some cases, life-changing. It has been a lot to carry, and honestly, there have been moments when I’ve wondered how I’m supposed to keep everything going.

But I’m still here. I still love what I do, and I still want to create the gear that so many of you have dreamed of having. I want to keep doing this for as long as I possibly can. I don’t know exactly what the future will look like, but I do know that I’m not ready to give up on something I love.

So, if things have been a little quieter, if production takes longer, or if I disappear for a bit, please know there is so much more happening behind the scenes than you may realize. I’m doing my best to keep moving forward, one day at a time. And if there ever comes a time when I can no longer continue, I promise I’ll be honest with you about it.
