We believe in transparency and keeping you informed whenever we anticipate being unavailable.

As Dr. Travis and his wife, Sara, approach their 20th wedding anniversary next spring, it's hard to believe they have been working so much they haven't taken a vacation together in eight years! They're finally taking some much deserved time away and will be traveling out of the country October 23–28.

During this time, Kerigan and Tanisha will remain here and stay in communication with Dr. Travis. They will be available to assist with matters that do not require direct veterinarian involvement or supervision, including phone consults, medication refill requests, scheduling, and general questions.

For urgent veterinary needs, the following clinics have graciously agreed to see our patients on a walk-in basis:

R Veterinary at the Lake – Linn Creek

Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Saturday: 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM

Lake Pet Hospital – Eldon

Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 7:45 AM – 1:00 PM

Additional emergency veterinary care options are available in Columbia (MU Veterinary Health Center and Horton) and Springfield.

We sincerely appreciate both clinics for helping care for our patients during Dr. Travis's absence.

Hey Doc… Why do your knees hurt?

Me: “Well, it’s a great burden carrying a 20 lb wiener up and down these steep driveways on Horseshoe Bend.”

Wiener week continues! 🤣

Maggie prefers the view from higher ground! French Bulldogs can actually be quite athletic when they have a healthy, open airway.

Maggie is a great example of thoughtful, health-focused breeding. Her longer, balanced body, open nares, and normal, functional soft palate support better breathing, mobility, and overall well-being. A healthy airway, with adequate sized trachea, also helps her regulate body temperature and reduces her risk of overheating.

Maggie shows how we can preserve the Frenchie charm we all love while prioritizing health, function, and quality of life.

Ok, sports fan. Place your bets. We’ve all seen it… that new concrete lane divider in front of Chick-fil-A, complete with a whole lineup of shiny posts adorning it.

So, the million-dollar question is…

HOW MANY POSTS WILL BE TAKEN OUT IN THE FIRST 7 DAYS?!

That’s right! We’re taking guesses on how many of those poor, innocent posts will be missing or flattened by the end of opening week!

The prize? Bragging rights!

Still working 7pm on a Friday night… at the Lake? Yup, that’s us. Committed to our clients not being Ozark’d.

Oh, and we still have several appointments left to go.

Oh, the life through eyes of a puppy! Gunner has officially been cleared to conquer the world.
