Meet Cookie, a 2 year old with a broken heart and so much love left to give. She is looking for someone who will never give up on her.
Just look at those adorable white feet! It’s as though Cookie stepped right into a bowl of flour and left herself with the sweetest little socks. But behind that precious face is a story of loss, confusion, and a little cat who desperately needs a reason to trust again.
Cookie came to us at the beginning of October through a local rescue after her world was turned upside down. Once upon a time, she had a loving home, someone to care for her, and a safe place to shelter from Ohio’s unpredictable weather. She knew what it meant to belong.
Then, heartbreakingly, her owner passed away.
A Good Samaritan reached out to a local rescue when Cookie’s deceased owner’s family abandoned her outside to fend for herself. Suddenly, the home she knew was gone and the little cat who had once been safe was left to navigate a world she didn’t understand. Worse yet, neighborhood cats were picking on her and she needed help before things got even harder.
Thankfully, someone cared enough to get Cookie to safety. But safety doesn't always feel safe right away.
Here at the shelter, Cookie is still trying to make sense of it all. She doesn't understand where her beloved person went, why she was left outside, or why she has now found herself in a busy shelter filled with unfamiliar cats, strange smells, and people coming and going throughout the day. After losing everything familiar to her, it’s understandable that she feels a little unsure.
Cookie doesn't need someone to expect her to bounce back overnight. She needs someone who will give her time to exhale. Someone who will let her settle in at her own pace, offer gentle reassurance, and show her that love doesn't always disappear.
Cookie needs stability. She needs a safe place to land. Most of all, she needs someone to be her anchor. ⚓

Cookie has already lost so much. She deserves the chance to feel cherished again. Please consider adopting Cookie and giving this sweet, white-footed tabby the forever home she thought she'd lost. If you can't adopt, please share her story. Her person is out there, just waiting to find her.
The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times.
