🧡🤍🖤 Meet Elle! 🖤🤍🧡
Every cat deserves a safe place to call home and sweet Elle is hoping her next stop is her forever one.

Estimated to be around 1½ years old, Elle is a beautiful calico with a friendly personality that's sure to win you over. A calico isn't a specific breed. It's a stunning coat pattern made up of three colors, typically white, black and orange. No two calicos are exactly alike, making each one truly one of a kind!

Elle's journey to ARF began in mid-July, when she was brought to us by a local grassroots rescue. She had been showing up at the home of a kind Good Samaritan, who made sure she had food while searching for her owner. After spending several weeks trying to locate where she belonged without any success, it became clear that no one was coming forward to claim her. Concerned that Elle could be pregnant and contribute to the growing outdoor cat population, the rescue safely secured her and brought her to ARF so she could receive the care she needed.

Since arriving, Elle has been treated for fleas, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is ready to trade life on the streets for a warm bed, full food bowl and a family to love.

Despite whatever she experienced before coming to us, Elle has remained a friendly cat who enjoys human companionship. She's ready to leave her days of uncertainty behind and discover what it's like to have a home where she's cherished every day.

Could you be the happy ending Elle has been waiting for? Come meet this beautiful calico and give her the forever home she deserves. She has already survived life outdoors. Now she's ready to spend the rest of her life safely indoors, surrounded by love.

Elle is available by consultant. Please email [email protected] for more info and to schedule a meet.

This beautiful medium-haired kitten came to ARF in mid-July from another animal welfare organization, along with her siblings, Saga, Legend and Icon. Her siblings have all found their forever families, and now it’s Myth’s turn to find hers.

Myth and her siblings were originally part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, a humane approach to managing community cats. Cats are safely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to their outdoor home when appropriate. In Myth’s case, however, she and her siblings were young enough to be brought into care and given the opportunity to find loving indoor homes.

Myth’s journey to safety wasn’t an easy one. Her mother and two siblings were safely secured first. Two days later, Myth and her third sibling were finally located and brought to safety. When Myth arrived, she was suffering from fly strike, a condition that occurs when flies lay eggs on an animal and the resulting maggots feed on damaged or vulnerable tissue. Thankfully, Myth received the treatment she needed and successfully recovered.

Today, Myth is a happy, playful kitten who is ready to leave her past behind. She spent time in one of our loving foster homes, where she was gently handled, cared for and socialized. She is a little shyer than her siblings, so she may need some patience and time to feel completely comfortable in a new home. Once she warms up, though, her playful personality shines through!

Myth also gets along well with other feline-friendly cats, making her a wonderful candidate for a home with a confident, welcoming kitty companion.

And then there’s that gorgeous coat! 🖤✨ As a medium-haired girl, Myth will need an adopter who is committed to regular brushing to keep her beautiful fur tangle-free, healthy and looking its best. A little grooming will go a long way toward keeping this lovely girl comfortable and fabulous.

After everything Myth has overcome, she deserves a family who will give her the patience, love and security she’s been waiting for. Could you be the forever family Myth has been waiting for? 🖤🐾

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing [email protected]. Make way for Phillip! This handsome 1-year-old male cat has the kind of presence that makes you wonder if he should have arrived with a crown and velvet throne.

Phillip is all white and there's something undeniably regal about a cat dressed in such a striking coat. But beneath that royal appearance is a friendly guy who is ready to trade the uncertainty of shelter life for a loving forever home.

🤍 Just How Rare Is an All-White Cat?
All-white cats are relatively uncommon. Estimates vary, but roughly 5% of cats are entirely white. Their distinctive appearance is often associated with specific genetics that suppress pigment throughout the coat. In other words, Phillip isn't just handsome, he's part of a relatively uncommon group of cats!

🐾 From TNR to the Shelter
Phillip was brought to us in mid-August from another facility that was in need of space. We don't know exactly how he ended up in the shelter system, but we do know something interesting about his past.

Take a look at his ear. 👀
Phillip has a clipped ear, which is an important clue that at some point in his life, he was part of a TNR program.

What Is TNR?
TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. It's a humane approach used to help manage community cat populations. Cats living outdoors are safely trapped, taken to a veterinary professional to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and then returned to their outdoor community. A small portion of one ear is typically clipped while the cat is under anesthesia. That universal visual marker lets caregivers know the cat has already been sterilized and doesn't need to be trapped and operated on again.

Phillip's clipped ear tells us that someone, at some point, was looking out for him. And we're awfully glad they did.

❤️ Someone Knew Phillip Belonged With People
While Phillip may have once been part of an outdoor cat colony, someone must have noticed that this guy is much too tame to live out on the streets.

Phillip is friendly and clearly appreciates human companionship. Whatever twists and turns brought him into the shelter system, we're hoping this next chapter will be much simpler. A loving home. A cozy bed. A family of his own. And perhaps a throne worthy of his royal status. 👑

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing [email protected]. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
