Let me start with this is one BIG baby. Pictures don’t do him justice, but he’s impressive when you’re standing next to him. Everything about him is THICK if he wasn’t registered with the JC I would question if he has draft blood somewhere. Please keep in mind that this is a 3 year old and has a ton of growing left to do. He’s going to be absolutely massive when he’s older.

I just love love love love LOVE this one! He’s one that makes you excited to pull him out each day. He definitely has someone’s heart horse written all over him.

Due to his age, size and growth rate I have been taking things slow with him, he spent the summer barefoot in my pasture just getting to grow up a bit. I wasn’t sure what to expect on his first ride but I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how balanced, open, and comfortable he is in his gates. Honestly, one of the best canters I have ever been on! He’s very rhythmic and even in his strides but he does cover quite a bit of ground which makes him feel faster than he is. He doesn’t quite understand the whole steering thing yet but his back is soft the second you get on and never feels like he’ll duck out from under you.

Even though he’s 3 and massive he’s very kind and respectful of his handler. Hes got his typical “baby” moments but loves when you wrap your arms around his head for a bear hug. He loves a good scratch on his withers, food, and hanging out with 2 or 4 legged friends. He’s lower on the totem pole in the field but he’s come out of his shell this summer and will play with other horses, though he’s happy to just hang out with his hay bag if he’s alone. He’s been good for everything from farrier/baths/lunging/ overall ground manners etc.

I tell everyone I’m really excited for this one, I think he’s going to be something special. He screams hunter, fox hunter or event horse! He’s definitely the type that will be someone’s “heart horse”. He’s truly special. Trust me, meet him, you’ll fall in love!

Since he is young, big and green I would not recommend him for a beginner, advanced beginner, inexperienced or timid rider. He would be fine for a confident rider who has a solid understanding of basics, would be ok for a first time restart with help of a trainer.

Gilbert aka good boy Gilbert or perfect man Gilbert. No, I am not kidding. That is actually what he is called in the barn, because that’s all you hear when he’s being ridden! Someone will ask about him and I’ll reply with “oh you mean perfect man?”. I named him Gilbert because I felt a funny horse needed a funny name 🤣, and honestly it fits him well. He really is a good boy all around, he has a personality, s***k and little bit of sass to him but he will never tell you no. He will never blow you off, ignore or fight you. He always tries his best under saddle and is such a fun ride. He’s snuggly and sweet on the ground and the first to greet you in the field, stands great for farrier, bath, mane pulled etc.

Under saddle I would classify him as a “responsive forward”. He has a motor to him, moves off leg, but has breaks. He prefers a rider who is soft in the hand and can ride more with their leg and seat. He does feel a bit trapped if a rider is heavy handed and will hollow/invert or lose his motor. He loves a good half seat for the canter or transition and will stay consistent with you. However, he does have a tendency to run into the first canter transition, but the second and third are always better. He’s the type that if you rode everyday he’d get better and better, but if you don’t have time for that and need to ride once a month, cool, no problem just do a quick refresher and pick up where you left off.

Gilbert has a fun story- I broke my shoulder last fall and was going to be out of the saddle for almost a year. A friend of mine said she was sorry I was out of the saddle as she had a horse I would love. I told her send me pics and videos, I was bored and had nothing better to do… well I loved the videos and had him shipped to me post op. I brought him to my farm with full intention of him sitting for a year. I pulled him out when needed and used him as a lesson horse for competent students ready to learn how to restart a fresh off the track. He was so game to learn, everyone loved him! He was used to teach riders “baby horses first jumps” and boy was he game for that! He always stayed consistent, left from any stride, never bulked, ran out or silly after fences. All you heard was “GOOD BOY GILBERT!”.

Now- I will say; these were competent riders who have experience jumping but never jumped a baby horse over first fences. That being said, I probably wouldn’t recommend him for a beginner, inexperienced or timid rider. His rider should be solid in basics, able to separate hand from leg, and feel comfortable with a half seat and an engine under them. He can have his baby moments of a random spook, or pulling back when turning out.

I guess all perfect men have to have a flaw right? Whether it’s the crazy ex, overbearing mother in law or mounds of credit card debt….. Gilbert’s is that he cribs (controlled). It doesn’t bother me at all, I barely notice it other than wearing a strap. Just mentioning it 🤷‍♀️.

Honestly he’s a good boy, and will make someone one hell of a sport horse! I’m excited to watch him out at the shows.

How is it already July?! This year has been incredibly busy and flying by. Silver left for his new home with an advanced event rider from Kentucky 😁😁. So excited to see what she can bring out in him, he’s a special guy and I’m sure he’ll have some big tracks in his future!

Not only that but we got to welcome this handsome guy! Welcome Cruise! He is SO chill and laid back that he didn’t make it to the track. After meeting him, I totally get it. I had to pick shavings out of his droopy lip this morning 🤪. Can’t wait to get started with him! Ellen Super

Man we have been busy this year and it’s only April 1st! Clay, Maui and Legend have all found their perfect homes. On top of that, my surgeon has given me the “all clear” to get back in the saddle. Sorry Gilbert, time to get back to work! Stay tuned as we prepare to fill the barn up again!

Who’s looking for a real life unicorn?! I’m talking the perfect young horse who has A rated jumper miles at the 3’ levels with a 16 year old rider, hacks around beautifully with a 11 year old rider and then has played in the hunter ring and xc schooled. Legend is your guy! He is very very very reasonably listed for a horse with quite the resume, his current family is looking to add a mini Prix horse to their string and unfortunately need to make room!

Legend came to my farm in summer 2023, he was very quickly matched with a solid confident 14 year old rider who has produced him up through the jumper levels herself. His rider has schooled him up to 3’6” with A show miles through 3’. She describes him as “super game” for anything you point him at, seems to really love cross country. She said he is super sweet on the ground, fun to ride and be around, always willing! Legend has played in the hunter ring at schooling shows and done derby type of courses. He has a confirmed flying change.

Legend enjoys the occasional trail ride and go with or without a rider. He stands tied at the trailer, good with the vet and farrier, has no “quirks” or soundness issues.

Sounds too good to be true right?! Told you it’s a unicorn. This boy has great miles under his belt all with young riders. Now- I should say that his young riders are solid confident riders who are comfortable with young horses. This horse is not suitable for beginners or timid riders and he can have his moments of getting excited, no buck/rear or spook under saddle, no stop at fences, just can build and get quick during a course. He prefers a quiet rider.

Legend is listed for 2️⃣5️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. He is located in . ***Please note** I am listing him
for his family as they do not have social media, I will forward serious inquiries onto his family!

We hauled 6 horses over to our friends at Swan Creek Stables to get updated sale videos for our 3 horses and for a Foxglove Stable field trip! All of the horses were on their best behavior after they settled in and great rides by all!! Hard to say which horse gets the gold star of the day since they were all perfect! Thank you so much to Amanda Suglia for sharing her farm with us, ViKtória Bodnár for catch riding my babies for me and spending the day helping, and Brittany Wanda Karen Sullivan Atkins Alex Faust for the amazing lessons! Let’s talk about who has the best brain for a baby 4 yr old TB. Anyone that knows me has probably heard me say “buy the brain, train the rest”! Clay has only been ridden twice in the last year, between having a baby and breaking my shoulder. He has a sale appointment scheduled tomorrow so I hauled him over to our friends at Foxglove Stable so he can see an indoor before the appointment. After MAYBE 10 minutes on the lunge, he took a deep breath and was instantly calm and relaxed. He arrived at my farm in July 2024, right before I found out I was pregnant, so he’s pretty much got to hang out in the field and grow up. I think he’s going to be pretty special 🥰 If anyone’s looking I probably have some of the best brained tbs in my barn right now!
