Apologies to everyone, this had been a difficult year with layers upon layers of bureaucratic obstacles. That said, no resolution was made on a course for Ute Valley.Maybe a new venue for the Dirty Du is in order? I will keep you informed on any progress for 2017.This year it's not going to happen,I appreciate everyone's support:) J

The Rampart Rager has had some difficult hurdles and hopefully this is the last. I received an email from Pike Forest and they are closing Mt. Herman road September 6-Oct for construction. Also, the Idirtarod 200 is the same date September 10th. I’d prefer not to compete w/ other local events so we can continue to grow the sport of cycling in Colorado Springs. That said, I’m rescheduling the 1st annual Rampart Rager 100 to Saturday August 27th 2016. Please spread the word and appreciate you following me through this journey. Rampart Rager Update! After months of jumping through bureaucratic hoops I finally got some momentum. El Paso County is opening up the Santa Fe Trail going through the AFA sometime this summer after FEMA fixes a bridge that was affected by the floods. Unfortunately, it won’t be before May so I have to reschedule the Rager based on the fixes needed. Once again the Rager will happen in September the 10th to be exact. I apologize that it has to be rescheduled but this is out of my control. I will give all pre-registered athletes a 50% discount to this year’s Dirty Du, which is scheduled for October 29th at Ute Valley Park. I appreciate every one’s patience and Criterium Bike Shop for being title sponsor and host of the Start/Finish as well as post race celebration. This letter saddens me for I have to reschedule the Rampart Rager 100 to May 7th 2016. I have yet to receive permission from the United States Air Force Academy to use the Sante Fe Trail that goes thru the Academy. My last sponsor (Air Force) was deployed and since his deployment the permit process has been heartbreakingly slow. I currently have a new sponsor and she is wonderful but this process may take longer then September 19th.

Everything for next year will be the same but better! Cash Awards, Cool T-Shirt, Free Bristol Beer, Free Food and of course a magnificent 100k course that will challenge any rider!

This is going to be a great event that has been in the making for years, just didn’t think the terrorist threat was going to be an issue. I am confident that I will receive the permit but with the event so close I can’t risk canceling with no notice. I hope you understand and will email when the permit is finalized and am excited to hold the first annual Rampart Rager 100 on May 7th, 2016.

I will refund your entry or transfer it towards next year’s event; your choice just let me know.
