Today is our first ever Tech Tip Tuesday! We will be featuring a bit of advice, insight, or information from one of our wonderful veterinary technicians on staff to highlight lesser-known tips and tricks in the veterinary world!
Today's Tech Tip: If your pet’s nails seem overgrown, get their nails trimmed regularly. It’s possible that the quick of the nail, the soft inner part of the nail that contains nerves and blood vessels, is overgrown. An overgrown quick can lead to fractured nails, pain, infection, and even changes in the shape and joints of the pet’s paw. Frequent maintenance will “train” the quick to recede which will prevent overgrowth in the future.
