We're beyond excited to announce that Busy Dog is now serving Colorado Springs and Monument! This long-requested expansion has finally arrived, and we have a favor to ask.

Meet our two new trainers, Becky Boreham and Hilary Aronoff! Becky and Hilary both have an extreme love and passion for all animals - both with experience training not just dogs but lions, tigers, elephants (along with many more zoo animals). We are so excited for you to meet them both! 🥰

Lucky working on his leash skills with Trainer Hilary 😊

When teaching your dog leash skills it’s important to reward what you’re looking for! As you can see, Hilary is rewarding Lucky for staying on a loose leash. She’s doing this two ways:

1. She’s rewarding him with treats when he’s right next to her and being attentive!

2. She’s allowing Lucky to continue walking as long as there is no tension on the leash.

When Lucky pulls, you can see she stops and waits for him to look back at her before she continues walking with him. By doing so, she’s shaping the idea in Lucky’s mind that by being attentive and relieving the tension on the leash means he gets to keep walking! 👍🏼

So proud of Bandit, who did a fantastic job at the over day in her training session. She did so great with her calm, friendly greeting of strangers, her stay with distractions, leash skills, and checked out the taxidermy! 😊

Walks are great for bonding, exercise, and mentally stimulating for your dog. Teaching them proper leash manners make walks enjoyable for the both do you. 🙏🏼
