I wanted to give an update for all those interested or waiting on the Jinkers litter. Unfortunately we don’t have any surviving puppies from this litter. She went into normal labor with nesting, panting, discharge and temperature drop but no contractions ever began. She remained happy, playful etc with no signs of distress. She underwent an exam, home and then a middle of the night emergency trip to the animal hospital with a temp of 103.5 and by the time we arrived it was at 104.1. They did an emergency c-section to find that one puppy had began his attempt to deliver but somehow turned around creating a u shape with his body. He had feet in one horn and his head in the other. Unfortunately it either broke his neck or strangled him in the process. Internally Jinkers is healthy and disease free so there was no issues there. Jinkers is doing fine. She is on plenty of pain meds, antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds. She is of course depressed as she loves her babies. We did opt to go ahead and spay her during her surgery. Sorry everyone. We will update with future litters as they come available.
