I accidentally won a horse on the internet adoption lol. I bid on her, got outbid, and never checked back. Apparently the other people withdrew their bid and now I'm the high bidder at 125. She's big, and I love the Coyote Lakes horses 😍

Now accepting name suggestions also 🤣

Mustangs do it best 😎

Another non-mustang rarity at my farm 🤣

Callie is a grade black mare that stands about 14.2h. She is in her early 20s.

The good: Callie is broke to ride, but not fancy broke. She hasn't had any formal training for gymkhana or anything special, but she will follow a group down the trail all day long. She's an easy keeper, and doesn't currently need any maintenance. She loads right in the trailer, stands for the farrier (just trimmed 3 weeks ago), and is fine for grooming and tacking up. She rides in a simple snaffle.

The bad: She is NOT for small kids or timid beginners. She doesn't do any funny business under saddle, but can be pushy and rude on the ground and does get quite a bit buddy sour sometimes. Callie has quite a few old scars from whatever happened to her in the past, including old wire scars on both front ankles. But she is 100% sound.

We bought her to use for a beginner kiddo, and she's just a bit too much horse for her to handle on the ground. Her pushiness makes her nervous. And I can't afford to keep an extra horse that doesn't fit what we need.

Callie would be perfect for a more confident kiddo or a smaller adult that just wants to head down the trail. She's older, but has plenty of miles left!

Located in Peyton, just outside Colorado Springs. 💲1️⃣k, obo. Motivated seller. May consider trades for another older kid safe horse, partial trade for hay, or a running 4 wheeler.

⭐ Videos are with a friend that's a beginner rider, first time she'd been on her ⭐

There's something special about this mare ❤️

I can't quite put my finger on it. She's young, well built, seems very quiet and thoughtful, and there's a good possibility she's going to be a 2-for-1 deal because she was just recently gathered.

Someone please adopt her so I don't 😂

A first hand account of the Sand Wash Basin mustang gather. Calm, no injuries, peaceful. Read the comments. If you are against BLM and management and roundups, just unfriend me and move on. I don't have the energy for people that believe only the propaganda and completely ignore the truth.

In case you can't see the post:

September 19th, day one of the 2026 Sand Wash Basin HMA roundup has ended. Total number of horses removed was 11 (5 stallions, 3 mares and 3 foals). The day had a slow start due to the recent heavy rains in the Basin and surrounding areas. The formal observation was canceled but the observers were given the opportunity to view the trap site up close as we waited for heavy rain, lightning and storm clouds to pass through. The roundup ended about 4 pm as horses were not located in the area of the trap.
SWAT volunteers were on site of the temporary holding pens. They were able to identify all 11 horses. A comprehensive list of the identified horses removed and those released back on the range will be posted after the roundup has ended. Please respect our volunteers' time as they will not be able to respond to comments and or messages on Messenger.
The horses arrived at the temporary holding pens in a calm state. The adults were on a separate trailer from the foals. The horses were placed in the chute to verify gender and if the mares were wet (meaning nursing) or dry. Once the adults were separated by gender, the foals were unloaded directly into the mare pen and quickly reunited with their respective dams. The foals started nursing right away. The stallions surprisingly remained relatively calm and only had a few challenges which ended quickly. All of the mares and foals belonged to one stallion. The other four stallions were bachelors. The horses were provided fresh water within the allotted time of three hours from arrival. Hay was also given to them.
