In light of the confirmed information that Farmina is sourcing ingredients from China and the company’s position that they will continue to do so without apology, Republic of Paws will be pulling Farmina from our shelves. This decision was not made lightly as we have been a Farmina Partner for almost 10 years. However, our primary commitment is to the pets and their people who rely on us to carefully curate the products and brands we carry. We have made a long standing commitment out of an abundance of caution and care that we believe our pets deserve to avoid products with wheat, corn, soy, byproducts or anything edible from China. Chinese manufacturers make many great products but they have also been responsible for every major recall that has resulted in pet deaths in the last 30 years. We cannot in good conscience promote product lines that source edible ingredients from China. We do understand that many pet parents may do their research and desire to still purchase Farmina products and because their formulas do not violate our standards, we are still willing to special order their product lines, by the bag or case, for customers that are purchasing these items with full disclosure of their sourcing. However, until Farmina opts to source these ingredients from countries with stronger transparency and manufacturing ethics, we cannot continue to promote their brand. We are saddened for the many customers that this decision will inconvenience but myself and our amazing staff of pet lovers is ready to help you analyze an alternative to this brand - primarily considering the jump to gently cooked or raw food alternatives or considering another ethically sourced dry food that you can top with freeze dried pumpkin or Green Juju Super Greens! If you have questions - reach out! -Molly, Owner, ROP 🐾 🐱 🐶
