Here is day 5! It was our final day of weave pole progression and Butters did amazing 🐾
Today he was able to go through the poles with minimal treat persuasion and just a command at the beginning.

We’ve had so much fun trying this out together, taking little training breaks from work throughout the day, and Butters has absolutely loved it too (and been exhausted after). Proud of how far he’s come in just a few short sessions 💛

Day 4 of our weave pole progression 🐾

Off leash today and back to using a treat as a lure to keep things clear and build confidence through the poles. We hit a bit of a struggle, so we brought in our trainer to help get us back on track.
Still just 10 minutes a day and he’s improving every session. He’s completely exhausted after and super calm the rest of the day

Day 3 of our weave pole progression 🐾

Today we worked on having Butters go through the poles without the lure of a treat. He started drifting wider, so I stepped in next to him to act as a “wall” and help guide him closer through the sequence.

One thing I didn’t expect… how exhausting this is for him. The mix of mental focus and physical movement has him completely wiped for the rest of the day in the best way. Super calm, super content.

All from just 10 minutes of training a day 👀

Follow along as we teach our office dog Butters how to do weave poles :feet: We are going to track his progress for 5 days!

We are keeping it simple just 10 minutes a day and tracking his progress to see how much he improves. We are total beginners and haven’t trained a dog to do this, but luckily we have a trainer on staff to help us out.
