There was a time when I seriously questioned whether I was the right home for this dog.
Life happened. Competition took a backseat, and I found myself wondering if I was truly giving him what a dog like him needs. He was taught from day one that we train, we work, we think—every single day. And he is a lot of dog.
For weeks, maybe months, I wrestled with what would be best for him.
And then I realized something:
I am his fulfillment. I am his home.
So I kept him.
Does he get under my skin? Absolutely. 😂
But this dog and I have been through so much together. I’ve learned to find little ways to keep his mind working, give him an outlet, and let him be exactly the dog he was meant to be.
Mondioring, obedience, playing with a ball, finding ways to make him think—sometimes it doesn’t have to be about a title or a competition. Sometimes it’s simply about giving your dog a life that fulfills them.
And the truth is, he fulfills me, too.
He’s my break from classic obedience. My chaos. My challenge. My fun dog. Probably my best dog and my worst dog all wrapped into one.
And no matter where life takes us, he’s my dog. He’s staying. Until the day he dies. ❤️
