As a family, we have not competed in a dog show since our car accident in June. This show was difficult for our family being the first show we HAD to take the road that our June accident happened on. I cried driving through white knuckling the entire time and seeing our tire marks, and visions I won’t be able to erase from my mind.
But let’s go to better news, because my daughter Briella and I are here to make another dog show together and thank you God for that.

We are proud to say that at the Collie Club of Colorado- Tango - received 2 specialty majors and 2 reserve winners bitch placements. We are so proud of her, she is very close to finishing her Championship. We are thankful to Overland Collies and Marcy and Mike Fine for sharing her with our family. She has kept us in the game when we didn’t know we could ever get back to it.

Pineland Verterra Starbound- Nova
Received her first point this weekend going WB. Unfortunately she was also in the accident with Shimmer, and has some residual soft tissue we are working out so we are limited on how we gait her. The floor was very slippery and we made a command decision to pull her. So we will sit her out and give her some time to heal, after what she has been through- I will never push this girl any more than she is able to and hope she will be more physically ring ready next year. I was so proud of how she walked in there with my kids, after everything she has been through.

Well I guess we need to formally update our website- because as of 1 October 2026 and after 23 years of service- we are now a RETIRED military family! We are so thankful to have been able to move cross country & meet so many wonderful breeders across the USA., Having a dream of becoming a family that shows and breeds dogs- our dogs and moving with them became priority. Finding rentals that would allow us to have intact dogs was a challenge, and moving kennel runs? Not easy. But we did it…. You go where the military send you…. And try to settle in as a new family in a new place… for the love of our collies. We did many dog shows by ourselves with my husband deployed! We are settling nicely into Colorado Springs and making this our home. We are going to be building our forever house on a larger ranch, and hoping to set up herding arenas to host herding trials for the Colorado Springs area. Baby steps to the dream, and thank you all for being apart of it!
