Today is Derby Day! The Run for the Roses, also known as the Kentucky Derby! These sweet pups were due today! But they couldn't wait to cross the finish line, so they came a couple of days early. We decided to go ahead with our Derby Pups theme and named them after 7 horses running in today's Kentucky Derby. Where would the Ice Age pups be without the comic relief of Crash and Eddie? They are gorgeous reds with lots of white splashy markings. Both have white tuxedo markings on their face and chest. Let's just hope these 2 don't grow up and get into as much trouble as Crash and Eddie!

Maggie (named for Mary Magdalene, of course!) is our second-smallest girl. She isn't quite as tiny as Angel, but she is smaller than most of her brothers and sisters. She has great curls and is a gorgeous red with white tuxedo markings on her face and chest. She is going to grow up into a good-looking pup.

Boy did we get a surprise! Mama Roxxy decided to have her babies a couple days early! And she was carrying 8 puppies! 5 handsome boys and 3 gorgeous girls. Mom and babies are all doing amazing! She acts like she's done this mom thing before even though these are her first babies! She is so proud of them and loves showing them off. Roxxy looked like Ellie on Ice Age because her belly was so big! So we went with that and named this our Ice Age pups! Stay tuned for upcoming photos.

Today is an exciting day! Our little Doodle Bug (formerly Ross from the Friends litter) has graduated Puppy Kindergarten and is going home to meet his new mama. We are sure going to miss his sweet face around here, but I know he is going to bring so much joy to his new mama. She has been anxiously awaiting him growing up a bit and getting a little extra training before coming home.
