It's been quite a while since I have made an update, life gets busy sometimes. A few weekends ago we did another cardiac clinic in which Rosa, Hunter, Alice, Winston and Cheyenne had their heart scans. We had great news all around. Rosa, Hunter, Alice and Winston had all clear scans! Cheyenne, who was never been bred because of her heart issues, had great results and had no progression in her disease. This means that Rosa and Hunter are ready to have another litter. I do plan on paring them later this month or early next month. Who is this new girl Alice you ask? Alice is fairly new here in the Summit House and is a sweet girl who comes to us from the Czech Republic. She has had clear genetic screening and now a clear heart screening so I hope she will be ready to be a mom sometime in mid 2027. I promise I will get some proper photos of her soon ♥

Yesterday was a great day for Summit Rex at Cat Fest Colorado. Thank you to the Yellow Rose Cat Club for putting on the show and thank you to all the judges that handled the girls. We ended up with 4 finals for Rosa and 5 for El. Birdy (formerly Dottie) ended up with 6 finals! It was a pretty crazy and busy day but thanks to all that came out to see us!

Thanks to rexandwrinkles for showing Birdy and taking photos yesterday.

Sweet Birdy (formerly known as Dottie) had her photos taken too. This little girl continues to exceed every expectation I had of her.

Our sweet Rosa had her photos taken at the last cat show. I will get the rest of the photos posted soon, I promise 🙂

When you have served your “cat show time” and get to stay home while the others go do the good work of being ambassadors of the breed. 🤣

Seriously though, cat shows are fun but we ask so much of cats at cat shows. New cat smells, loud unfamiliar sounds, hormones and strangers handling and scrutinizing them. It’s a lot but today was a good day for all Summit Rex cats. El and Rosa did great today each making a few finals and we were super happy to have Birdy (formerly known as Dottie) participate today and also made several finals. I was so proud of Birdy that I might have shed a few tears but only those who followed her story would understand ♥️ **last photo is actually a video of Birdy today.

We will all be out again tomorrow at the Arapahoe County fairgrounds so come see us if you are in the area.
