Sometimes breeding doesn't go exactly they way it was planned, and that's okay! On 3/12/2026 we welcomed our litter out of Lucky Strike x Tatianna into this world. Ultimately we ended up with two, then two became one. While we mourn the loss of 'what could be/ what was', we chose to celebrate our singleton and what his future looks like. Already he has begun to show a chatty personality, just like his father, singing and talking to anyone who will listen to him.

Both parents are recorded AKC CH/GCH. CHIC . Both undeniabley sweet.

Recently we received our UKC Final Top Ten certificates. Our UKC shows are far and few, and we attend 2 or 3 shows a year, but Miss Anfisa came in #3 across the board. There are no local borzoi who regularly attend so the points are usually from Lucky Strike, but Anfisa has put herself in the Top Ten with multiple Group Placing wins, Multiple Reserve Best In Show, and Multiple Best in Show wins.

We're back home from our New Year's trip down to Glen Rose, Texas, for the Lone Star Borzoi Club Specialty, and Nolan River Kennel Club shows.

Nochka was the only one to walk away with anything at the All Breed show, and the Lone Star Borzoi Club's Specialty. At the AB show Nochka walked away with Select Dog and another 5pt Major. At the specialty show under Breeder Judge Dr Anne Midgarden, Nochka was Best of Opposite, for yet another 5pt Major, and at the Victor Whitlock Memorial Show, under Judge Rick Brown, Nochka was the big winner!

Anfisa and Lucky Strike both took home a 5pt GCH Major each.

It is with a heavy heart that we will be unable to attend the National Owner Handled Top 10 competition in Orlando, FL, next month. Being federal employee(s) this has taken a hard toll on our household, but it still hurts to work all year only to have it taken away out of our control.

Good luck to all our friends intending to compete in Orlando, we will be cheering you on from home!!

Thank you again to the Turquoise Trail Borzoi Club for hosting everyone's favorite specialty shows. The three musketeers came out and it was so much fun seeing them shine in their own way, and a much needed getaway for the wife and I due to the continued shutdown.

On Saturday under Judge Dr. Daniel W. Dowling, Anfisa was awarded Best of Opposite in a beautiful line up with Tiffany Marzluf handling. Another 5pt Major to add towards Silver! Neither of the boys placed under Dowling.

Sunday was an interesting day as we had a last minute Judge change. Originally Mr. Jon Titus Steele was slated to Judge but due to the continued government shutdown issues was left unable to fulfill their judging duties. A truly sad day/ situation. TTBC was quick to find another Judge (provisional). Ms. Monica Stoner was our newly appointed judge for Sunday. Under Ms. Monica Stoner, Lucky Strike went Select Dog for a 5pt Major with Tiffany handling, and Anfisa took an AOM. For both days of the specialty Anfisa was the only exhibit in the ribbons for both shows ... while we're not sure if it is a good or a bad thing yet, but we will take the wins and run!

Although Nochka was not in the ribbons either day he was in his element wearing a smile to greet everyone with!! That boy is pure sunshine!!!

Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club's Specialty Shows/Evergreen Kennel Club

Miss Anfisa came out with (2) Best of Opposite wins, BOBOH, and a Select B*tch. This girl always gives me her all no matter what is thrown at her, besides being outside all day in the heat! After our very long day yesterday, Anfisa was tired and managed a Specialty Select award today. Anfisa is now only 7 points from her GCHB title, but she did receive her NOHS Bronze title yesterday. 🥰

Next up, my Black Dog. Before my wife and I hit the show site I demanded to show Nochka, as he has always been Anna's dog to learn on/ show. This boy said "hold my beer" and came out with a BOB, Select Dog, Specialty OH winner, and an AOM. Nochka is now 4 points away from his GCH, with extremely limited specialty showing. 🥰

Last but not least, Lucky Strike. Lucky Strike only came out on Sunday for the specialty and was the first AOM awarded.
