Soft coated wheaten terriers are known to be predisposed to chronic gastrointestinal disease. We have determined that the dogs develop changes in their guts before clinical signs develop. We want to see whether these changes are preventable with early diet intervention.

Enrolled dogs will visit the NC State Veterinary Hospital monthly for a total of four visits, will receive an Alicam® video capsule endoscope twice and then will be transitioned to a kibble diet, which they will eat exclusively for 90 days

Can you help?

We are recruiting dogs with mammary tumors to investigate a new therapy called INSPIRE, which uses electrical pulses to safely destroy the membranes of cells within a tumor.

Dogs will need to be screened at the NC State Veterinary Hospital before they can be enrolled in the study. The free screening involves a cardiology and oncology consult, thoracic radiographs, abdominal ultrasound, bloodwork and initial CT scan.

NC State researchers are working to improve the quality of life for dogs with non-seasonal atopic dermatitis.

This clinical trial is testing a novel monoclonal antibody drug with the goal of reducing or eliminating symptoms. Patients will come to NC State for eight study visits over the course of 14 weeks.

The study is fully funded, including free exams, allergy tests, bloodwork, urinalysis and 6 doses of the injectable drug.
