Meet Kiki the Sphynx kitty!
Did you know that Sphynx cats are not from Egypt? They actually originated in Canada in 1966. A regular housecat in Toronto gave birth to a hairless kitten named Prune. This was due to a random genetic mutation and not any human interference. This led to what we now know as the Sphynx breed! ❤️

Trivia answer: Their Nose!
A dog’s nose print is a unique pattern of ridges, bumps, and grooves on the skin around a dog’s nostrils. Not a lot of research has been done but a study was published in 2021. These patterns remain constant throughout their lives and, just like human fingerprints, no two dogs in the world have the same nose print!

Its International Bat Appreciation Day!
Bats are often misunderstood and even feared but they provide many ecologic services such as eating annoying insects like mosquitos to joining our friendly bees and butterflies as pollinators. Education is the best tool we can have and today is the perfect time to learn about bats and their ecological role. 🦇

It's ! Did you know in one hour, a bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes? Since bats are considered "insectivorous" creatures, they rid our world of many annoying insects.

Let's give a very big shout out to all the zoo, wildlife, and other veterinary professionals out there helping to keep these winged creatures healthy!
