Toxic plants for pets 🪴

Most pet parents don’t realize that a single bite of the wrong plant can trigger anything from mild stomach upset to life-threatening organ failure. What’s even more concerning is that symptoms don’t always show up right away, so exposure can go unnoticed until your pet is already in trouble.
In my latest blog, I walk you through the hidden dangers of common houseplants and landscaping, how toxicity actually affects the body, and the critical steps to take if your pet is exposed. I also share supportive strategies you can keep on hand to help in an emergency. Knowing what to look for and how to respond can make all the difference. Link in comments ⬇️ .🐾

🚨Red and near-infrared light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, has been studied for its ability to support healing at the cellular level. Research in animal models shows that specific light wavelengths can help calm inflammatory signaling, improve collagen organization in injured tendons, support cartilage health in osteoarthritis, and stimulate growth factors involved in bone repair. These effects are linked to mitochondrial function, helping cells produce the energy needed for repair and regeneration. In several studies, early tissue-level changes were observed within the first 1–2 weeks of consistent use.

⏰ Today at 12pm EST, Dr. Ron Riegel and Jackie Jolie join us to discuss how red light therapy offers a gentle, non-invasive way to support comfort, mobility, and recovery in dogs and cats, especially for aging pets, arthritis, injuries, or post-surgical healing. Join us in the Inside Scoop for the conversation and a chance to win a red light therapy device valued at $295 USD. 🐾✨

A simple turmeric paste you can make at home to support your dog’s brain, joints, and immune system 🐶🫚

Turmeric is one of the most extensively researched natural compounds for inflammation and cancer support in dogs. Its active compound, curcumin, helps reduce inflammation, support joint and brain health, and protect against age-accelerating damage linked to processed foods.

Turning turmeric into a golden paste makes curcumin easier for your dog’s body to use - and it’s been shown to boost BDNF, a protein that supports healthy neurons and cognitive function. We’ve upgraded this paste with medicinal mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 for immune and longevity support, plus decaf green tea 🍵 for DNA-protective polyphenols.

✨ A simple, affordable anti-inflammatory, immune- and brain-boosting bowl topper or mix-in.

⬇️ Full recipe in the comments. From The Forever Dog LIFE book.

FIREWORKS PET SAFETY TIPS!

Between fireworks and champagne corks, New Year’s Eve can be overwhelming for our furry friends. Start the new year on the right paw by following these pet safety tips from Constable Mark Herman’s Office:

1️⃣ Update ID & Microchip: Make sure your pet’s tags and microchip information are current in case they get loose.
2️⃣ Take a Current Photo: A recent photo can be invaluable if your pet goes missing.
3️⃣ Keep Pets Indoors: Loud noises can cause pets to panic—keep them safely inside.
4️⃣ Provide a Safe Space: Give your pet a quiet place to hide where they feel secure.
5️⃣ Exercise Earlier: A good walk or playtime earlier in the day can help reduce anxiety later.

A little preparation can help ensure a safe, calm, and happy New Year for your pets. 🐶🐱💙
