Silver, a young semi-feral cat, was brought to us for TNR but upon examination it was discovered she had a belly full of kittens! Silver was surrendered to our hospital and taken in as part of our Angel Fund program (https://www.vssah.com/angel).

On September 6th, six precious bundles were delivered in our isolation ward. In a few weeks*, they will be ready to wean from mom and go to loving homes. Silver is also adjusting well to the domestic life, and we believe with a little time and patience she will make a wonderful companion, so she also needs a home!

Meet Silver and her precious babies: Al (boy), Copper (girl), Penny (girl), Obsidian (boy), and Diamond (girl). (Don't worry - the sixth kitten is healthy but already has a home!)

If you or someone you know is looking to adopt a cat, please contact the office at 979-693-8870. If you are not a current client, veterinary records for your previous pet/s may be requested as part of the screening process to ensure each kitten is matched with the perfect home. An application/request for a kitten does not guarantee adoption.

*The kittens are currently 3 weeks old and will not be ready to go to homes for a minimum of 4 more weeks, depending on how quickly they wean and learn to sustain themselves away from mom.

Today is National Check the Chip Day!
https://www.avma.org/events/national-check-chip-day

A 2022 study showed that microchipped pets are more than THREE TIMES as likely to make it back home as those without - but a microchip only works if your information is current. It is important to make sure your contact information is up to date in case your pet escapes the yard or is separated from you during an emergency. Check the Chip Day is a reminder to check in and make sure your pet has the best chance of making it back home if anything should happen. Don't leave safety to chance. Double-check your pet’s ID and microchip info today!
